I'm considering "getting in with the program" but there are a few questions I found no answers for as of this moment. I am interested in knowing what kind of commitment such a program entails, regarding consequences of stopping/taking long breaks from it considering short and long term changes to one's brain.
The only thing I found was (a theory?) that one would have more acetyl-choline membrane receptors as a result of a long term use but I am not sure what meaning this has.
How would this affect the brain functions after one stops using these substances?
Would the brain go back to 'pre-usage' state after some time? if so, what is a reasonable time? (days/weeks/years?)
If there are more long term effects beside the positive cognitive ones or precautions that anyone is aware of I would be interested to know.
I would also appreciate if experienced members could report of their personal experiences regarding breaks or cease of usage altogether, please mention approximate durations and dosages.
Cheers.
Long term use of Piracetam and Choline

I would really like to know the answer to your questions also. From what I have heard, piracetam is a safe place to start as it is has the longest history and more research compared to other nootropics. I elected to start with Aniracetam and it should be here in a couple of days. I elected for Aniracetam over Piracetam because from my observations, I saw more people report positive experiences with Aniracetam compared to Piracetam. Although no adverse long-term side-effects have been discovered so far for Aniracetam, Piracetam is still safer due to it's longer history. If Aniracetam works, I will probably try Piracetam to see if I can achieve similar effects at the same moderate dosage. So far ALCAR is the only other substance that kinda works for me (very subtle -- in fact, a Mountain Dew provides better response actually).

Wow, I see my previous post above and just caught the date, May 11th. I thought, is it the 11th already? Oh, no wait, I posted that 2 years ago. Damn how time flies. I read that post like I posted it yesterday. Have we found a cure for aging yet? I think I will need it soon.
