I recently took about a month off from any serious noot use (needed some money) and coming back now I've found that I can't feel them like I used to. Even with higher dosage and some new noots what I notice now is nothing like what I felt before. Has anyone had a similar experience after taking a break from noots?

It's only my second day back on so it might take a few more days. The only supplement I'm not taking anymore is letchin and instead taking choline bitartrate but I doubt that makes a significant difference. Either way, my last month was a "mess" so it could take some time to recover from that, hopefully nothing permanent.

You probably never had any effect but the placebo that's why you don't "feel" the effects anymore.

Whether I feel the nootropic effect has to do with a lot of other factors.
Did I sleep well or am I tired?
Did I eat well or am I hungry and weak?
Did I exercise?
Am I on top of things or under emotional distress and need to work-through things.

So, if I am feeling well, the nootropics provide an extra kick and I feel them.
If I'm not feeling well, the nootropics have a lot to work against and their effect might not be as noticeable.

I have experienced the same as what you described for the most part. Each break from nootropics I take, the less effective my nootropics become. This isn't to say that I don't get any effect, it is just not as pronounced.

I'm sure it's not this. I took them for a few months and was able to observe changes and feel their difference.

Thanks for the thoughts rags. I'll give these ideas some attention over the next few days and see if I notice anything new. Nootropics underlying methods of action and mechanisms sure can get complex sometimes.
