If you go to the google newsgroup sci.life-extension you will find a HUGE amount of information on pretty much any supplement under investigation or even not...
Acetyl-L-Carnitine, among other things, helps to increase the efficiency of mitochondria in energy production.
Here's some good info on it..

BJ.. do you think it might be a little much to have a forum for threads on different supplements?

This is definitely one of the best supplements out there. I wrote an article on it also:
http://www.bulknutri...gredients_id=23
If you have the money I would take more than 2 g daily - I suggest 6 g daily, along with choline, ALA, and CQ10. Of course 1.5-2 g daily has been proven effective in tons of trials, but keep in mind the animal studies use huge doses.
BTW, as much as I support LEF, since this is an expensive supplement I would get it from www.beyond-a-century.com or www.bulknutrition.com. Compare $42 for 100 500 mg caps to $17-$20 for 100-120 500 mg caps. You can save money by getting bulk powder and capping it but it is really a pain to work with the stuff and it seems to degrade easily.
