Hi,
wen can send out nice, fancy and colorful pictures of brain slices and microglia cells if one likes to use them in their designs. Send me a message and I will see what pictures I can find.
Pictures and graphics/comics are always helpful to understand such a project and would hopefully help to make it more interesting for potential donors.
Thanks for the help.
Greetings,
Dey

good start, but methinks we'd need to keep features such as the importance of activation and the migration through the bbb
meanwhile, we still really need a banner! Any takers?

Hi,
what we tried with the comic-like cell pictures was to visualize the function of the microglia. It is another level of information transported in the picture. Using text would make the picture crowded, but everybody can imagine a sleepy person and transfer the idea onto a cell. A microglia which is just sitting around and sleepily surveying its surrounding. And also an angry, aggressive person, an activated microglia, which is migrating around, attacking plaques urging fellow microglia to join the fight. (and in aging, these guys go beserk, and attack 'nice' neurons)
It is important that activated microglia are damaging neurons and it is important that they feedback to attract further microglia.
Maybe one could try to implement the comic-like style. I know that not many use comic style in scientific presentations but I do like them, because they are more easy to remember and do attract attention when used. I'm just not good at drawing them myself.
Thanks for the help and support!!

Thanks for your feedback Mondey!
If this wasn't clear, what I mean is a banner that we insert throughout the forums to draw attention to the funding drive, like we had for the lazer and the mitochondria research (http://www.imminst.o...10a/banner3.png)
I'll draw one up myself again if necessary but it would be nice to get some art team input on these tasks.

So we could no longer wait for the banner. If you can come up with a better one, please do.
Should we use Mondey's and Arndt's faces? We'd need to ask them.

Elus put this together, and we were working on adding some more text, but then I see that you had made a red banner and this project stalled out. It may still be an option if its needed some place.
