Which browser do you use? Most modern browsers have a spell checker function.

I use firefox, and spell checking mysteriously disappeared, but only at longecity. it came back again about a week later, equally mysteriously.

Did this happen at about the same time as the disappearing and misattributed posts?

No, I think it was before that event. I sent you a PM about it a few weeks back.

It's been going on the weeks at least, maybe longer. We used to have a spell check as part of the forum post screen but I don't see it now. I don't know which browser I use. I use Apple's sometimes and LeNovo's at other times. They aren't my computers. I wish we could get a spell check function back.

We don't have and never had an in-built spellcheck. If your browser's isn't working on this site only, let us know. As I type, firefox works for me.

Bumping an old thread here. I have no red underline spell check function only on this site. It is extremely frustrating! Using Firefox 36.0.1. Please help me out. Thanks

OK so I just came here to reply and YES it's working. Earlier in another thread it wasn't though. Most of the time my experience is that it doesn't. Maybe it has something to do with working when I come directly to a link rather than navigating around the site. Really weird and annoying. Thanks though.

When someone says that a browser or Firefox contains a spell check, I have no idea how to access that.

I don't think it's something you can access per say. They mean the little red swiggly line that underlines words that are spelled incorrectly. It is not a spell check search function. When you right click on the underlined word, it gives you spelling suggestions to replace it.

It's possible that the spell checker has been turned off. While you're entering text, right-click on a word. If the "Check Spelling" item doesn't have a checkmark, then it's turned off. Selecting it will toggle it on. The cursor has to be in text to see this. If the cursor is in the empty space below the text, it won't work.
