Firstly, I love this guy to death. He's influenced my life a great deal.
He's also wicked interested in Science. He's currently running a scientific communication institute in Sunnybrook. He's done a shit-ton of science popularization work. And I will really freakin miss him if we don't get LEV in time. Finally, I think he's the kind of guy who might be interested, and is popular/respected enough that he would get the idea some more traction.

Maybe he is a cryonaut? Has anyone asked him about it. Has he ever expressed an opinion about cryonics.

Not to my knowledge. It's not a wildly popular idea, obviously, so I don't know if it would gain any consideration if he was asked.
But, damn, I'm going to miss him if we're too slow.
