I have been researching lithium sources in foods and have found almost nothing useful.
Visiting the first page on google will lead you here, a page that mentions the yin content of foods. Far from a reliable source. Other web pages will have a similar list of foods, likely copied from each other, and no sources. These pages will also say to limit pistachio intake, something I have not seen a source or reason for.
What I am trying to find:
- The lithium content in common lithium containing foods
- The lithium content in pistachios
- The type of lithium most foods will have (LiCl, Li-Carbonate, or...)
There may be no use in doing this, other than it is bothering me now. If anybody knows how to chemically test for lithium, then I would go right to my school's chemistry department. Any other knowlege to further my goals is welcome (perhaps professors I could email).
Sorry if this is different from what Nutrition normally discusses.
