As a self-pronounced guineapig that has tried almost every popular nootropic I recently had the chance to try MDMA. It was definitely a very unique experience and unlike everything I took before, but what I found even more interesting was my reaction to it.
I tried it multiple times in fact and every time my body reacted the same way:
The first intake, no matter how high (~220mg in one dose) or low (50mg) it was, didn't do anything. Even 6 hours later, I wasn't able to notice any of the effects even though other people had peak effects within an hour. The only things I noticed turned out to be placebo in the end.
Then the second dose ~5-6h after the first one got me the same reaction as my friends and it kicked in really really fast, within 20-30 minutes.
The next odd thing was the half-life of the drug. Other people and reports from the internet report something around 6 hours, for me it was well over 10 hours until I noticed any of the effects actually getting weaker.
So I am of course wondering what is going on. One theory is that my body metabolizes it very very slow and peak effects really happen after ~7h. Then the second dosage gets added on top of that, again starting to show effects after 6~7 hour and thus the long half-life of 10h+.
But I am also a nootropic and supplement user and wondering if anything of that could affect how my body metabolizes or reacts to MDMA.
Here's a rough list of what I frequently take:
- Niagen (daily)
- Sulforaphane Glucosinolate (daily)
- Thorne brand Multivitamin (daily)
- Vitamin K2 (daily)
- Vitamin D3 (daily)
- Meriva/Curcumin (daily)
- High dose of Fish Oil (daily)
- Flax Oil (daily)
- Hyauluronic Acid (daily until I ran out)
- Magnesium Citrate (bi-daily)
- Hydrolysed Collagen (all few days)
- Noopept (occasionally. once 1~2 weeks, intranasal)
- Phenibut (very very occasionally and not within ~2 months of my MDMA experiment)
I first suspected NR but a quick search didn't give me any results. Phenibut was also a candidate but I didn't use any of it for a very long time so it should have been already long out of my system.
Could it really be that my body is just very slow or does anyone see something that stands out from this list?
