I'm curious about experimenting with reducing REM sleep and it's effects on less exhaustion after sleeping. There's a link between depression & faster onset + excessive REM sleep.

Are there any supplements you can recall which do this?

Alcohol? Coffee?

I would be really cautious with reducing sleep quality. I'm working night shifts, experimented with eating at nights to cheat biological clocks. Big mistake it was.

Cutting on coffee, carbs, reducing feeding window to 6 or less hours, taking cold showers helps with mood and energy levels a lot.

Speaking from personal experience, the following help me with my excessive REM due to having Narcolepsy. Exercise a lot of caution with GabaB agonists:

Phenibut

CBD (Thc should help too but it has a rebound effect and only works for about 2ish hours)

Baclofen

Xyrem/GHB

Lowering stress
