low dose of the right coffee (a salted caramel cold brew) makes me super relaxed, turns down mental chatter, etc.

tea and chocolate do not do this. many other blends of coffee also do not do this.

possibly another ingredient in this specific blend? or maybe it’s the cold brew?

also, what exactly is the mechanism here and would another supplement do so more effectively?

No idea.  Maybe look up how cold brew coffee is chemically different that hot brewed.  I have not noticed this with the few times I tried cold brew coffee and I do have anxiety issues.

Edit: what is crazy is cold brew has less antioxidants than hot brewed and the caffeine is roughly the same:

I feel like cold coffee gives a little more depth and either covers or negates that strange alkaloid taste that cold brew sometimes has.
