A lesser-known vascular theory that explains why prostate issues persist, even as testosterone declines. The results show:

✅73% drop in night urination

✅34% shrinkage in prostate size.

That’s not all! Here are some proven ways to improve prostate health naturally:

✔️ Fast walking (over 4 mph) reduces BPH risk by 20%

✔️ High-intensity exercise lowers risk by up to 31%

✔️ Moderate alcohol intake cuts BPH risk by 34%

✔️ Cranberry extract significantly improves urinary symptoms

A different sort of exercise might also be wise.

Ejaculation frequency and prostate cancer

High ejaculation frequency was linked to a decreased risk. Compared to men who reported 4–7 ejaculations per month across their lifetimes, men who ejaculated 21 or more times a month enjoyed a 31% lower risk of prostate cancer. And the results held up to rigorous statistical evaluation even after other lifestyle factors and the frequency of PSA testing were taken into account.

So, 21 times (or more?) per month!  I'm going to need to take a second, and maybe 3rd wife!

Right. I looked for the ejaculation connection, but didn't find persuasive studies when I published. Interesting that it seems not to help against BPH, but does reduce cancer risk.

I hadn't heard about the "Internal Spermatic Vein Theory" before. The idea that testosterone bathes the prostate (since it's essentially trapped due to valve problems in the testes) instead of being diluted in general circulation is an interesting one... and the high local DHT that results from it being trapped there.

The relationship between cycling and prostate problems is also quite interesting - I used to ride my bike A LOT (including using a firm saddle) and I had some prostate related symptoms at various times despite being young.

It's weird that slow walking would worsen prostate health. I can't help but wonder if it's actually the case that people who are sick walk slow... at worst I would think it would have no impact.

Great article Chris!

Thanks, Drew_ab. For the slow walkers, while unhealthy people walking slower is a possible confounder, I think the supporting evidence that running > jogging and tennis > squash carries the point.
