First what happened to videos?

I finally have the command for inserting videos into the post memorized and now nothing works. IS there a new method or do videos no longer get embedded?

And what happened to all the videos that were here before?

The bbcodes for videos in the previous forum version was hacks I implemented, so they would not have migrated "for free". The hacks would need to be migrated to the new forum. However, I believe the new version has a bbcode editor, which should streamline the process.

Laz, I just deleted a post then re-merged it back with the original thread. Just go to the thread it was deleted from, select "Merge Topics", then put in the URL of the topic holding the deleted post.

Note: user profile images did not migrate over to the new forum.

Mind, Elrond and I are working w/ Kamil of Helldesign to correct other bugs.

It looks like the default directory for the images is wrong. My avatar image is being pointed to:
http://www.imminst.org/av-1594.gif

But it's actually located here:
http://www.imminst.org/forum/uploads/av-1594.gif
Posted Image

So the image directory needs to be pointed somewhere else for starters, because the root directory of the website is NOT a good location. If the new location is not the same as the old location, then the old images need should be moved.

Thanks Jay.

Shep thank you too but what does the merge command on the right side do?

After you helped out Shep I went back to the original thread and saw that under moderation there is a drop down merge function too and figured that is what you meant but there is one on the right that is always there and doesn't appear to do anything. Any thoughts on this Jay?

OK one quick question on consistency.

Why do some threads have only the "add reply" on top and bottom and only some other threads have a "fast reply" feature alongside "add reply"?

Also a few threads didn't show a reply button at all when it looked like I was still signed in according to my name being on top but actually I think I was kicked out because when I tried to post in a different thread I got bounced to a log in screen.

Looks like external links are not working now, i.e. embedded graphics.

I suppose it would be too difficult or impossible to return to the old system?

Do you realize that this series of events appears to indicate that management of Imminst is, ah, nonfunctional?
Owing to my communitarian leanings I don't think it is due to any malicious desires of anyone but a mistaken
architecture of Imminst's management formulation. I suppose this is somewhat of a taboo subject though. I
wonder though how far you can get ignoring, down-playing and even censoring notice of your own faults. My
first step-father was like that, incapable of admitting error or mistakes. I think and hope I learned some
positive things from him in a negative sort of way...

Hmmm, no editing ability either? I notice that some graphics links are working but they seem to be gone from the Global Warming thread, http://www.imminst.o...mp;#entry209567

Oh, the edit is grayed out at the bottom of the post now though still selectable, 'scuse me.

Okay, so now the links to outside graphics appears to be working but the Editing of posts seems gone.

Oh, apparently a time limit has been made as to when you can choose the edit option. It was available for this post but not others I've made longer ago so that means I can't go back and clean up the now erroneous claim I made in my last post at the Global Warming thread concerning no outside graphics linking. Oh well. How about making the edit available for 12 hours or more?

I still can't log in with my original user name, as I first reported here. It keeps telling me my user name or password is invalid.

Am I the only one with this problem?

This isn't a problem, more of a question...and I don't know whether it's a feature of the new forum or something I just now noticed. What do me, brainbox, maxwatt and BruceKlein have in common? I have to say that I feel to be in very good company, but I don't understand why all of us are colored red. There are others as well, but the vast majority in the forum are gray--including VIPs like Mind and elrond and shepard.

Thanks, elrond. I'm a bit slow. Perhaps that's why my personal control panel is so bleak:

BTW, I want to say that I appreciate all the hard work going into improving the forum. ImmInst is fabulous, and I'm sure it will become even better. I have to say, however, that I'm a bit apprehensive about the impending poster grading system (especially given my current popularity with the forum).

Within the lifestyle forums the text in the postings is diplayed with underlining. It looks like this issue started after installing the banners.

No, still there, but I don't think it's in every post.

Took a closer look. Seems to be everything in the supplements sub forum that has it exclusively.

OK... it's browser specific.

Does it happen in this thread?

Nope, that's ok.
In fact, using firefox all seems to be ok.
I get the underlining in IE on vista.

-Buttons and smilies are too light.

-Logo and site name and description are on the other side and it isn't right....
