Well after the study came out claiming that synthetic vitamins actually SHORTENED life span I thought it was finally time to dump them and go for the good stuff. I'd been using them off and on for a while but never really took any vitamin on a regular basis. I talked hubby into forking over a hefty sum for Megafoods Men's Daily foods for him and both New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal and Megafoods Baby and Me for me. (Not pregnant but was hoping to be and didn't want vitamins to go to waste). We are almost at the end of our 180 pill bottles and he claims he doesn't feel any different! I also ordered Longevatrol (Is that the same as Reservatrol?), Quercetin & Bromelain, DHA, New Chapter Broccolive (I have high blood pressure), spirulina tablets, chlorella tablets, Megafood Mega flora, Megafood Megazymes, Lycomato lycopene, Green Magma, and New Chapter Berry Green powder.
Needless to say he was expecting a change for all the money we spent. But in all honestly we never took the vitamins on too regular a basis. Some have to be on empty stomach..some not. The Megaflora, Megazymes, Green Magma and BerryGreen have not even been used at all! I guess my question (if anyone will be so kind to answer) is what should we take? Will it make a difference with our already poor diet?
I'm 36 with high blood pressure and a very poor diet. I'm getting better but I often gag when I try to eat vegetables and usually don't consume very many. I can't cook and so I eat out a lot, including fast food. I know vitamins aren't some sort of panacea but I was hoping to at least get some of the health benefits that the really great fruit/veggie eaters get. Is there any hope for me?
I guess my question is is there a difference between Megafood and New Chapter and are these the vitamins my husband and I should take?
Thanks, I know this post is really long but I just didn't know where to find that info. (Again please forgive me if this has already been discussed. I'm not having the easiest time finding what I'm looking for on the forums yet!) Everyone here seems so knowledgable (I'm actually pretty jealous!) that I'd be grateful for any advice you could give. Thanks again!
