Hey, i often use ephedrine hcl for studying. it really is a great herb, focus is superb. but it has recently become banned so it is hard to find it. But i can get seeds for mahuang, which you then dry and eat(1g should have 22mg ephedrine alcanoids)..  but i heard that mahuang has other alcanoids which inhibit the ephedrine in the plant, so it is not the same as ephedrine hcl. 

can anyone confirm this? (i dont want to grow the plant and then find out it's useless)

Ma Huang will amp you. I used to order Ma Huang from Puritans Pride back in 1995 as a teenager, and it did just as good as ephedrine hcl. Pseudoephedrine and other things present in Ma Huang compete for absorption and receptor binding affinity I believe, but despite that it worked great for me.

Just get sida cordifolia. It is obtainable as an herb and contains ephedrine. No need to plant stuff.

You should be able to find powdered Ephedra Sinica for like $25/lb. I got a pound from mountainroseherbs.com over a year ago and have used maybe 1/4 of it. They're out of stock right now, but you can probably find another vendor by looking on http://www.entheogen...forum/index.php . I've actually found the plant powder stuff better than the pills for strength/workouts, and the plant or pills about equal for study/mental stuff.

Thanks for the answers. i forgot to add i'm from europe and ordering mahuang from usa is out of the question, since the package won't come through the customs

I'll probably just plant it, i've read that it isn't that hard to grow

It may be not hard to grow (there are many species some will adapt better to your climate) but it will take a long time to grow.


I have purchased Sida Cordifolia (6% Standardized Extract) from deva ethnobotanicals (shipped from UK).
It's got a sweet smell, and mixed with a cup of coffee i get very pronounced PNS effects (cold hands)
Without coffee i just get low blood pressure and can't concentrate.

“i planted 10 sinica seeds about 3 weeks ago in peat pots. ive had 5 germinate so far and they look like tiny spring onions. im going to plant them around my garden and hopefully can make some tea in about 2 years.”

does anyone know any source from inside european union that sells ephedra sinica(mahuang). i've tried sida cordifolia but the effects weren't the same as ephedrine hcl

What were the effects of sida corifolia like and what dose? Anyone know where to get it bulk and what extract would be good?
