What could be said about that holographic, twodimensional universe thing which was and still is used by the New-Age-scene?
Is it really Bull*hit like the other stuff (indigo children for example) or is there some truth behind that?

More usefully, how can you know?
Can you know?
Can this (or any other) book's ideas be judged on their own merit, without knowing if they are true or not? Can the book be useful even if you can't know about its veracity?
What is truth, when referring to something untested?
On a vaguely scientific note, my understanding is that it's true to say that Newtonian physics was killed by a gang of brutal facts long ago, for what it's worth.
If Talbot's proposals are correct, what would it mean to you in terms of your pursuit of immortality? Nothing? Much? Everything?
And if they're not, what would that mean to you in terms of your pursuit of immortality?
What would you do differently in either case?
Personally, I'm just a pragmatist and look at these sorts of questions in terms of what they can or cannot offer me of value.

The possibility of storing information would change.

As a general rule of thumb, if the new age community endorses it, it is probably bullshit.
On the subject of determining truth - using empirical evidence is usually a pretty good method. Sure, you can never be certain, but this doesnt mean you cant be more likely to be correct.
