Breakfast

2 fried eggs
10g walnuts
1 slice swiss cheese
2-3 strawberries

Have you tried poaching eggs? The AGE content would be much much lower (and I think they taste pretty good too!)
You don't seem to be eatin many veggies either. Kale and broccoli are at the top of the list.

i did try poaching the eggs but have to admit the taste isn't that great. Fried tastes the best unfortunately
Veggies currently included are celery, lettuce and bell pepper. I think kale can be an issue with GERD so i have avoided it.
Thanks for reminding me about broccoli. need to include that more in my regimen.

Also, have you tried going completely gluten free to see if it helps your GERD? Gluten sensitivity can manifest itself in many ways: GERD, IBS, migranes, even anxiety/depression.
Apple cider vinegar and baking soda is another thing to try (not any research behind it, just anecdotal evidence), but it is cheap enough to try for yourself. Good luck!

what seems to help the most at the moment is not eating anything after 6-7pm and raising the bed several inches. The PPI helps with food coming back up my mouth but it doesn't do much for the indigestion episodes I get occasionally. Limiting fibre, dairy and carbs helps quite a bit as well. If i do eat meat its boiled. I dropped all grilled or fried meat. I can still drink some tea but now take in a much smaller serving size--- I will probably switch to a herbal tea----. I remember eating a chicken salad a while back and getting strong chest pains/tightness. The pain depends on the size of the meal and the amount of carbs or so it seems. There was another meal which included chicken salad with lentils soup i believe and that caused some very painful tightness followed by heartburns, difficulty breathing and lots of burping afterwards. I've limited the no. of meals to just 3/day now.

anyhoo, I just ordered l-glutamine and D-limonene so hopefully these can help. My diet is gluten free

For the baking soda, is this something to be taken before/after meals ? I'm a bit worried about the ACV

I *believe* the idea is to mix the ACV and baking soda so you have a pH balanced drink. Do a google search for the correct ratio. Just something I came across at some point.

Be prepared for a lot of fizzing and frothing. I used to use this exact combination to make "rockets" when I was in elementary school. I would put ACV and baking soda in a jar, then push a large cork into the mouth. When the pressure got high enough, the cork would be blown off. I never thought to drink the rocket fuel...

just had the following meal:

72g mango
21g pine nuts
54g roast chicken

i got some mild chest pains afterwards which is an improvement over past days. size of the meal is an issue. low-fibre and low carbs seem to be another factor.

EDIT: I'm also starting to cough afterwards. ticklish sensation

EDIT 2: Chest feels tight

the third meal of the day (around 2:00-3:30) is the worst in terms of symptoms for some reason. I may either continue with a small meal as the above (possibly cutting out the nuts for some coconut oil) or just wait a bit longer to have it. I will also try some d-limonene with the meal and see how that goes.

adding some resistance training this week and also some cardio (brisk walking 45 minutes 4-5 times pw)

considering changing the GERD regimen. drop the losec dosage to 20mg and use some high H2 blockers. Maybe a night-time regimen as well (will consult with my doctor)

an update:

starting resistance training this week and cardio as well (45 minutes brisk walking 4-5 times per week)

adding glutamine (one teaspoon) half an hour before each meal.

reducing the PPI dosage to 20mg and adding a high dose H2 blocker after dinner and lunch ( already take d-limonene with BF)

considering a digestive enzyme supplement

personal observations to alleviate heartburn, GERD
Eat your food slower. And chew your food more than you do now. You should eat a little less that way anyhow and improve your lipids. Take a break when your halfway done with your meal and wait 10-20 mins to resume. Use a watch to do this or you'll give in and stuff your face and your stomach will kill you. The proper timing is when your stomach gives you the full extent of what its telling you, not when it starts to feel anything. Hence the watch.
Drink meals with lots of ice water...Incorporate your walk, a little less brisk than normal after you large meals or meals that would give you trouble. My dad is the champion fast eater in my family because of being in the military...and he's also the only one with GERD. Eat a good yogurt often or take the probiotics mentioned. If you have a desk job get a standup desk, or treadmill desk, or put a box on top and make it a standup desk...

Yeah, I nuke it for a few seconds in a shotglass if I want it liquid. A lot of times I will just dig in with a tablespoon and pour this berry supplement on top for a tasty treat:

considering adding a quality probiotic. Culturelle comes to mind. Any other worthy brands?

Also check out L. plantarum 299v in pubmed, jarrows has it now here:
http://www.iherb.com...Caps/23209?at=0

I take the 299v and theralac. At higher doses over longer term, plantarum tends to loosen stools a bit and theralac the opposite, in me. I think everyone has to find their own ratio and dosage. L.P. 299v survives through stomach acid so no worries about coating and such, and theralac has its own 'stomach acid proof' system.

Also search for DSM 9843, because not all studies do show up with 299v.

thanks for the suggestions guys. I will look into those strains further. When I did my last abdominal ultrasound they found excessive gas which made the procedure more difficult.
