It's very spaced out, but looks great otherwise.

Nice, like it :) Looks professional. We are redesigning the Heales website too. http://www.heales.org/ (Look at the Dutch part for the new lay-out, the English and French still have to be changed).

Quotes are broken!!!

No, seriously. Go look at any of the threads prior to the switch, all of the quotes are trashed, it shows as blocks of text with just the word QUOTE

Yeh plenty of quotes have been broken... I really like the look overall however! I think this redesign would be a good chance to put on the front page a widget/sidebar for a chat feature and possibly even a snapshot of active topics

Thanks for noticing. Regarding the old quotes, you're definitely right. It seems that changing all quote/image tags from <> to [] and not accounting for that in topic conversion, is an issue on the vendor side: http://forums.invisi...ct-t144633.html

We'll try to fix it by "rebuilding" the content, which should fix old posts on the fly, and in case file a support request with the vendor about this. But for now one can at least see where old quotes begin by the word "QUOTE", and it's not an issue with any new content.

I will get used to it, but in my opinion the previous design was optimal, this one's bit too bright for my taste and feels a little, I don't know, sort of claustrophobic.

We're aware of some member permission problems and should have those fixed in the next few days, hopefully.

Additionally to that, I just rebuilt the profile information, including Signatures and About Me pages. By the rebuild, any conversion errors in your signatures and profile info should have been fixed. Rebuilding the forum content will take a little longer.

So if you still experience bad signatures/profile info, please let us know. And permissions for editing your own profile should be restored within some days.

It looks great, and the usability looks better--it will only take a bit of time to get used to it.

I like it altough i found it a bit too bloated, making it more compact would be perfect imo.

I will add that I like the RSS feature. Perhaps I missed it before, but I find it very handy.

Completely agree. I've been waiting for an easy way to get the forum posts to appear in my RSS Reader.

- Small error: the link on the top left (when one clicks on "imminst") points to the forums instead of pointing to the main page
- Quotes are horrible currently
- the blue/green background color of advertizing should be replacing by something smoother (light grey perhaps)
- the website is very slow. I hope it'll get faster
- wrong link to "activetopics" on the front page

I like that it has a smartphone mode quite a lot. It would be nice not to have to wade through nootropic discussions. We definitely need to change the constitution so we can pay engineers ( otherwise we need to hire an outside IT service which will likely be much more expensive).

this kind of work is something we should not have to rely on pure volunteers for(but thank you those who are volunteering!)

I've been trying to give positive votes to my friends (you all included within this thread ;) ) but I get the message that my "positive votes have been used for the day" --this may need to be fixed...(I've not been able to give any votes at all).

Thanks for fixing the quotes, things look awesome now. Continuing to really dig the new interface. Any chance we could get the ImmInst favico back? My brain isn't registering which tabs are which ~_~

And many thanks to those who volunteered, and are doing such sterling work. I don't perceive any deficits that would necessitate replacing them with outside help (unless the volunteers are getting sick of it) ^_^

I too can't edit my signature. If Mixter or anyone else fixes this issue, leave a post here or make some sort of announcement : ). I want to put a quote or some useful links in mine.

Thank you for your efforts in the new forum design,

Another suggestion: For the tabs up the top below the logo (Forums | Members | Institute, etc) we should put an "Active Topics" link as the current "View New Content" on the right is a little hard find.

edit: another suggestion: I have just noticed that in the avatar box on the left, it no longer indicates if the user was the "thread starter" as it used to, which can be a useful piece of information.

Up top there right next to the forum tab, it says "Member" but it takes me to my "Messenger", my pm inbox. I beleive that tab is supposed to say Messenger.

The calendar is probably going to be an amazingly useful tool. The shout box is back. I see the teams have remained classified by team, I still need to dig into that more. This upgrade really looks like its working out superbly.

Is it intentional that you can't chat directly from the forum page, but you have to follow a link to another page ?

The reporting behavior has changed too. Reporting a post no longer deletes it pending review by default.

Noticed another minor glitch, but it keeps coming up for me. When replying with a quoted text box (i.e. one with name= and other tags), adding another indented quote (which I do when quoting abstracts/papers) results in an error reporting mismatch in the number of quote tags. Getting rid of the indent fixes it.

I guess I don't see it.

This works though. Just unindent the /quote line ....

Also, the view/edit html source button is missing from the editor.

Agree with the spaced out observation. Too big 0_0 I guess I just don't like a fluid css. I prefer fixed ;) Nice design though ;). Still trying to get used to the new UI

edit.. test embed plugin

Ha! thanks a lot. Never would have thought to stagger the tags like that. Bad coding practice ;)
