I know someone that just stopped taking Effexor and even after a gradual decrease in dose they are in withdrawal right now. I know personally for the first couple days it's bad. Yesterday was the last dose. They are using Clonazepam to assuage some of the side effects. How soon after discontinuation could they start taking Rhodiola Rosea?
I know Effexor's half-life is something like 6 hours so you should theoretically be able to take it immediately, but I want them to feel the benefits of Rhodiola Roasa and get it's full effect, so should they wait a week? Is there a period you should wait before you take anything so that your brain heals, and maybe introduce Lion's Mane Mushroom before Rhodiola?
Coming off it was Doctor recommended because of nasty side effects, so please only comment on when they should start taking Rhodiola Rosea or Lion's Mane Mushroom, or both, or something completely different
Preemptive thanks

What withdrawal effects are they suffering? I assume anxiety is one if they're taking Clonazepam.
In that case I would recommend vast amounts of Theanine and Taurine, which will synergize with the Clonazepam. Also possibly taking SJW along with the Rhodiola may help, since it has mild SNRI properties. An adaptogen would also be of benefit, I would recommend Ashwagandha since not only does it help with anxiety, it is also neuro-regenerative.
They can take Rhodiola immediately, since it's MAOI effects are fairly benign and take a few days to become fully efficacious.

Valerian root which is what Valium comes from can help with the anxiety
( I WOULD SUGGEST USING THE ALCOHOL BASE TYPE IN A DROPPER BOTTLE ....but they do have non alcohol type in some stores ..
If this works for you ..You can also use the tea after you have used this for a few days in between can also help
There is also another called RESCUE REMEDY which is mad up of different flowers that also may help,
NOTE **** FOR ANYONE THINKING OF STOPPING MEDICATIONS LIKE THIS
You really need to slowly go off medications like this If you are under a doctors care he will also help you with a lower amount so that you can go off of it at a gradual step by step with lowering the amount and also the strength It may take the next month or so or more to slowly wean yourself off depending on the strength and amount along with how long you have also been on this drug
It is not safe for anyone to stop taking a medication like this without some instruction from the doctor who prescribed it for you
One harmful side effect can be seizures along with many others
No one here has any idea of your history or personally knows your present state for why you are on this medication and why you are now removing yourself from it so quickly.... along with the amount you are on and the period you have been taking it
Anxiety is a minor side effect compared to what can happen to you if you do not go off of this medication with the help of the doctor who now prescribes it for you
You really need to take this very seriously

Benzos, for sure, but I've never heard of an SNRI or SSRI causing withdrawal seizures.
Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine with SNRI properties and a long half life. Kava kava is an NRI and anxiolytic. Perhaps either of these could be helpful if the withdrawal is intolerable.
