I have bought a bottle of Swanson Rhodiola Rosea with some other goodies from an online shop because it was the only brand that was carrying although the price made me doubt about the quality.Swanson is one of the cheapest brands out there as i see.Do you know if the products from this company are what they claim?

It has been 5 days that i take this supplement and feel total zeo results.I will try this a couple more days and i will switch to another more reputable brand like NOW.I want to know if the zero results are because of bad brand or just Rhodiola doesn't work on me.

I have been taking 2 capsules half an hour before breakfast and lunch. It is 250mg Rhodiola Rosea root extract per capsule standardized to 60% polyphenols (150 mg),5% total Rosavins (12.5 mg) + Rhodiola Rosea root 100 mg as the label claims. It looks good on paper but doesn't seem to work. What is wrong?

Can you suggest a better brand?

ISTM Swanson is generally reputable and reliable for quality. Still, you might have better luck with NOW, Jarrow or Planetary Formulas.

Rhodiola is one of those supplements where brand matters, significantly.

Most of the studies in humans have been done with this brand:

I highly recommend it.

Is NOW a reputable brand? Cheap, yes. I admit I use them when I can't afford better. But Jarrow, Nature's Way, Source Naturals and, above all, Life Extension Foundation, are IME the most reputable and effective.

In the NOW products I buy, there's always 5-10 capsules that have broken and spilled their contents all over the rest of the capsules. They also have a few warnings on ConsumerLab. And the effectiveness doesn't seem as strong as other brands. But still, you can't beat the price, and again I do use them - they're probably better than many other brands, or at least equivalent.

The Rhodiola I got from Nature's Way definitely had an effect on me.

NOTE: Nature's Way, NOT NatureMade (cheap crap you find at the grocery store)

What is ISTM?

How can be of equal quality to other brands since it is so cheap?I feel something is wrong here.I also bought their Green Tea Extract and don't notice anything too..

Do you feel that the other more expensive brands are higher priced because of advertising or just want to make higher profits?

My suspicion is that most of these supplements are pretty cheap to make to start with (IOW, the more reputable brands also carry a much higher margin). And then Swanson obviously has the advantage of selling directly to the customer, too.

I own Swanson ALA and Methylcobalamin 5mg and I feel things off of both of them. Don't know what that tells you.

I never said there was an "off feeling", I said "off of" which is just correct grammar. With ALA I get a hot sensation in my stomach sometimes and lowered energy (probably lowering blood sugar). With methylcobalamin it's hard to describe.

Ok maybe it is my English but what are you trying to say? That Swanson's supplements are making you feel off (as in weird/unbalanced whatever)?
