Grip strengthening

Centurion's Photo Centurion 01 Jan 2012

Anyone ever worked specifically on strengthening their grip? I bought a powerhands gripmaster today, been working on it quite a bit and it has gotten my hands tired (good!)
Just wondering how many others here do it, either to improve their bench / deadlift or to perform better in their sport of choice such as climbing.

What's your grip strengthening tool of choice?

I bought a pair of these. Add them to some heavy dumbbells for serious grip work.

I have a lot of grip tools, but don't really use them in my own training because we do a lot of pulling. However, plate pinches, fat bars, farmer or suitcase carries, crush grippers, sledge work, towel or rope work, and all the various rolling tools are fun to use (and necessary in many sports).

Deadlifts and pullups kill my forearms. They tend to remain sore days after everything else has recovered. That fat grip tool looks interesting though.

Shot rotations, sledge hammer levering (all directions), and fatbar training. These exercises will greatly improve your grip strength.
