Take it out. The lithium orotate in Vimmortal is probably the main thing that has prevented me from purchasing it. I've tried taking lithium orotate (5mg from Doctor's Best), and I've had rather unpleasant reactions to it, even when quartering one of their 5mg pills. I understand the research on lithium is strong, but I'm very wary of purchasing Vimmortal as it is simply due to my past reactions to lithium orotate.

Plus, if Vimmortal is meant to be marketed to the general public to generate sales, my bet is that seeing lithium on the label is going to scare a lot of people off. For better or for worse, I'm pretty sure the only association the vast majority of Americans have with lithium is as a drug you give people who have psychological problems. That could be gotten around with proper marketing maybe, but I'm still opposed to lithium due to the possible adverse effects of orotate. And I know I'm not the only one - plenty of people on the supplement forum have posted about bad reactions to it. Just don't think it's ready for inclusion in a multi.

Li-Orotate: definitely take it out. Like the previous poster, I don't tolerate it.
Li-Carbonate: no problem for me.
However, many people (me included) may want to control their use of Li independent from their vitamin supplementation.

I also have had not entirely positive experiences with low-dose lithium and its inclusion in the first Vimmortal, more than anything else, dissuaded me from purchasing it.

As of 16th of February the vote clearly favours including it at 14:5 Yes:No

My personal opinion is the inclusion of Lithium is fundamental to Vimmortal, a key reason I plan to purchase once my Multi Basics, and/or Lithium bottles run out.

I hope the voices in this thread are not overly valued in the final decision, as complaints are often much louder than a thumbs up, and so can set you up for a selection bias.

I would include lithium to a multivitamin I would use myself. I would maybe not include it to a multivitamin I was selling to other people. :)

What other vitamin or essential mineral causes the same degree of adverse reactions in people at an RDA level? Aside from people with specific health problems, I cannot think offhand of another supplement that people have negative reactions to at the rate of lithium orotate. And talk about selection bias is silly because you could level that charge at the entire way this multi is designed. Sometimes, when there's smoke, there's fire. I've had very unpleasant reactions to lithium orotate at 1mg supplementation levels, and others have as well. Just because the RDA seems to be 1mg (and I don't think that has in any way been definitively proven) that doesn't mean our bodies are designed to process 1mg of it all at once.

And again, aside from my own personal issues with it: I can't see how including a substance which is likely viewed by many in the public as something only crazy people take in a multi designed for public consumption (and not just Imminst members) makes sense from a business perspective.

Will the Vimmortal come in 6caps a day serving sizes?
If so, one should use it spread through the day anyways (2-2-2).
Many people will use it (1-1-1) anyhow. That way nobody would have to process 1mg at once.

For me Lithium would be a reason to use Vimmortal, but I understand other users points.
I also had negative reactions when using 1mg lithium before bed, but since taking it in the morning, I'm fine.
I guess Lithium might scare away potential users, which are not familiar with the research as well.
It just would be too sweet to have 1mg Lithium per serving instead of splitting 5mg pills.
In the end people in charge should respect other users objections although they are overruled 3 to 1 at the moment.

Lithium seems helpful to most people, but it seems very harmful to a small minority, and is thus an unfair addition to a universal multivitamin, just like ginger extract in a multivitamin would not be fair to heart-valve patients who are already taking aspirin and Warfarin.
