Thinking about the topic recently, I reached to the conclusion, that the act of just copy Your mind into a machine do not actually makes You immortal. It only produces a machine, that thinks, that it is You, or in the best case You are making just an "electronic twin" of You, and when You die and it stays it is not Your immortality. Even if You manage to transform Your brain information into another person, it will still be the other person, who will live, not You. Your own body, and Your own brain will actually die. Maybe it is better to redirect the efforts that people do to seek mind uploading to other more perspective areas, such as genetics of the aging, biochemistry of the aging, biology of the aging, searching for cures of the uncurable age related diseases and others. Does anyone else has been thinking over this thing?
