This is an Outreach Challenge!

In February 2012 I contacted 104 separate e-mail addresses for the outreach group and I am challenging the forum to beat that. If over 104 contacts are reached for one month, I will donate $30 (that’s about £20 in my money) to the cause. I know it’s not a huge amount but I am on minimum earnings so to me, it’s a fair amount.
I am making this very easy because this does not have to be done by one single person. If 104 separate people contribute, I’ll accept that as the challenge having been met. There are well over 104 people on this board so if everyone contacted just one person, then that would mean that word about the cause is spread rapidly to a variety of people.
I am going to make this even easier now because I will happily PM you the stock letter that I use for outreach if you don’t have the time to write your own. I will need a list of the people you have contacted to be posted up on the Outreach topic for the month and I will accept entries that are sent via snail mail or people reached via telephone. If people accidently contact the same person/company then I will accept that too...unless every one of the contacts are the same then that will look a bit suspicious.
If any of you are thinking “who do I contact then?” the answer is anyone! The bakery up the road, the car business in town…the more people who are made aware, the more likely we will have people who will sit up and listen. There are always people who are in a position of influence who are always worth making aware and would be a huge boost but then there are also ordinary people like myself who may be willing to help the cause.
So come on, get writing and help fundraising and awareness all at once!

I contacted one now toward this. I googled philosophy and contact info. The organization that came up was a skin care place. Thats the kind of place I could look into about potential sponsorship coincidentally, but I wrote them in a more Outreach sort of way. I asked them if they affiliate themselves with the indefinite life extension cause and what they think of it. If I reach out to them more generally and they respond then that might even be a better approach to talking to potential sponsors. So its an outreach and an interesting test.

That is a damn good idea and a brilliant way of looking at it.
Come on folks, only 103 contacts to go until I am coaxed out of my hard earned cash!

I just wrote to 21 more people. I asked them what they thought about indefinite life extension, if they were for, against, or somewhere in the middle. They were less official sorts of letters and so I signed them as Eric with the movement for indefinite life extension.

Hello b0gger! It's nice to have someone else helping with the outreach and thanks for your contribution.
