bump, i think i might have found a source for this. I've placed a test order for 5g and am quite curious to test this very promising substance.

Any update?

Yup, please update. Seems really promising rather than something like GLYX-13 which would be hard to procure.

I'm looking into this compound again. If anyone has done some research into the area please let me know if there is a more potent version of 7,8-dihydroxyflavone or something similar. Thanks.

Here's the full study: http://www.pnas.org/...53-e9aa7eb363f8.

It is way premature to just start experimenting with something like this on yourself. Especially the hyped-up claims in that patent application should be a HUGE red light.

More than 99% of compounds that appear effective in rodents don't pan out in human studies. either because they are unsafe or ineffective. I would try to relax and let the guinea pigs be guinea pigs first.

The cool thing about this compound is it is already in food, and is safe. For me it falls in the category of uridine... Just extracted and in higher amounts.

I wanna source it. It is probally cheap.

There is also 4′-Dimethylamino-7,8-dihydroxyflavone , which I would expect to be more potent...

http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/21073191

Basically longer , more stable activity. Where is a source that isn't 5 or 10 mgs for stupid amounts of money?

Not really. The supplier I contacted is trying to make a standardized extract; but, it's not that easy.

So this stuff falls under the category of Cerebrolysin and NSI-189?
Sounds interesting.. I'd be up for acquiring some, should there be such an opportunity.

The compound is only found in tiny quantities in food, while therapeutic dosing would require doses that are orders of magnitude higher than those found in food. The difference between the two doses is so large that you can't extrapolate safety of the higher dose from the fact that the compound is naturally present in food.

For comparison, apple seeds contain small quantities of a compound that degrades into hydrogen cyanide when consumed. It's entirely safe to eat apples (including the seeds) because the quantity is so low. That doesn't make hydrogen cyanide safe for human consumption.

The TrkB receptor is not well understood, so we don't know what the downstream implications are for TrkB agonists or what the side effects of long term stimulation of that receptor might be. It is a very interesting target, however. Amitryptiline is a TrkA and TrkB agonist in addition to its more traditional anti-depressant receptor targets, for example.

I do have a source for 7,8 Dihydroxyflavone, and could possibly supply others with it at $100/g. I can't reveal the source directly as they are not the sort of place that sells to consumers or wants a bunch of random people ordering from them.

Please message me if interested. I'll probably check here only once a week or so.

Also note that this is a research chemical, and safety and efficacy in humans has not been established.

@yadayada Any updates? The other group buy has been discontinued, so I'm hoping there'll be another way to get it..

Umm, I'll see about quantity and cost. Can I get a show of hands for interest in the compound here?

Is anyone else interested in making this buy happen?

violetechos You'd be willing to facilitate? I know of a supplier that has reasonable prices and seems legit. I'll PM you the website. It's in stock so it should be quick.

Guys, this is one of the last things I want to get along with ISRIB. I'd be willing to share some with select members for free. Q, would you be interested? My original intent was to find a rapid acting antidepressant like this one on these forums. I'll lurk and wait around until NRX-1074 is made public. I'll prolly get GTS-21 privately and might end my nootropic 'ventures there. :D
