C60 experiments @ home

These posts are interesting and completely contrary to my experience.

All I experience from taking about 7 mg a day, every day are good things

Which I think is perhaps 7 times or more what most people on this forum are taking, and might explain your results. Now that I have a 500 ml bottle of olive oil with about 1g/ml C60, I'll try a dose like that too. I have yet to notice anything at all from C60.

So far, the reports of tiredness have come from 2 people taking very large doses (Anthony at 130 mg, xtronic at the rat dose (1.7mg/kg) scaled by 1/6, which would come out to 20 mg for a 70 kg person) and from 3 people taking smaller doses- sunshinefrost at 1.5-3 mg daily, Turnbuckle at various dosages, and me at 1.5-2.5 mg. Turnbuckle notes an association with continuous dosing. At this point, there doesn't seem to be much of a dose dependence to this side effect.

And once again, I have the opposite experience - I'm just weighing in. C60 has improved my overall energy and that hasn't changed since I started taking it several months ago. I really like how 7 mg a day makes me feel. No if's ands or buts.

Are you using the 99.95% or the 99.5%?

I read that some olive oils are toxic due to some ingredient, even virgin oils
maybe some of us are using it and this is why results are weaker

Right.... ... and i whish i had seen this study earlier:

http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/20306705

Kokuritsu Iyakuhin Shokuhin Eisei Kenkyusho Hokoku. 2009;(127):39-43.
[Cytotoxicity of fullerene (60), carbon nanotube, and their derivatives in V79 cells and cultured normal human astrocytes].

Don't worry about it. It's an in vitro study, where concentrations are usually wildly higher than those that can be obtained in the body. Further, they aren't looking at the compounds we're using. They don't say in the abstract exactly how toxic these compounds are, but they do mention that carbon nanotubes are worse. This paper is nothing to lose sleep over. Bear in mind that everything is cytotoxic in this kind of assay at some concentration.

Thanks, i needed this kind of advice. I still feel somewhat spaced out and tired but i guess it will pass. Its ironic how i wanted neurogenesis but wnded with neurotoxicity effect.

Is there any study that tests how long c60 stays in the system ?

I tried roughly 5mg of C60 today and it seemed to me that I experienced an energy boost (a little like ALCAR but cleaner). I hadn't really noticed much with 0.5 mg.

I'll try the same tomorrow morning. I have a moderately difficult workout on the schedule for tomorrow (intervals totaling 5 miles under an 8 minute pace plus a few miles warmup/cooldown), but it would be a surprise if I noticed any benefits.

Earlier you mentioned some itching and hives from c60-oo. Did you find a way around that problem?

Nothing published on c60-oo that I know of, but from this data, I'd roughly estimate that c60-oo has a half life of about a week, for the slow phase of elimination. You'll probably be back to normal in a month, plus or minus a couple weeks.

For those of you who have experienced less than desirable effects while consuming C60oo, are any of you also taking medicine? Perhaps there is a C60oo - medication interaction.

It seems that those who have negative reports were silent until someone finally broke the ice. But come on, if you have something negative to report, do so. There are ways to take this stuff and there are ways that are counterproductive. Let's have some honest reports.

For life extension purposes related to the original study, why not just at least START with Olive Oil alone? At least that eliminates those who are allergic to olive oil or sensitive to one of tis components. Just a thought....

Here's something interesting...

Strength increases could be due to higher testosterone levels.

I'm having trouble pinning it down to anything, but it hasn't come back.

I consume a lot more olive oil in my diet than I do from c60-oo, and have been using olive oil for a long time, so I've essentially run that experiment. I think a lot of us are in the same boat. The ergo-log article is pretty interesting, although it could also be interpreted in a different way: Soybean oil suppresses T production. That might be phytosterols at work, or maybe it's PUFAs, or some combination?

I had hives, about 4 altogether about a quarter size, mostly around my waist and lower chest. They would resolve in a day or so. Not very major stuff.

I can't say for sure that my workout today, which I thought was successful, was due to the C60, but I did do my 7:56 mile repeats at a heartrate a few beats below what I was able to accomplish on the previous Wednesday. Subjectively it was a little easier.

RE: blood Glucose

I did check my BG - it was unchanged. - I stopped tiredness went away over several days - started again - tired again - then stopped - tiredness went away over several days. I took the 99.95%.

I'm going to wait till I see some human studies before trying again.

Were you still taking 1/6 of the rat dose? That's quite a lot compared to most of us. Have you tried a low dose?

He said before he was taking 10ml a day (post #1374) and didn't feel anything. So this may be a variety of the "effects fade with time" that some have reported, except he never had any and the effect faded to below baseline.

I average 6 mg/day. I haven't noticed anything dramatic. I still work out daily, alternating resistance and aerobic type workouts. Sometimes I feel energetic; sometimes I feel tired. I probably work too much, work out too much, and don't sleep enough, but taking C60 OO hasn't altered my life appreciably.

Allow me to add my 3 week experience. 1st week, 2.5 mg/day. 2nd, 1.5. 3rd, .8 every other day.

No change in the way I feel, perceivable energy, sleep (which I lack perpetually). No change in weight, bp, anything really.

Have been too busy/ tired the last few months but my random push-ups to failure immediately increased by about 12%. Rather subjective.

The only thing I really notice though is increased hair growth. I'm a 32 yr old rat, with a high forehead to begin with and it seems to climb a bit yearly. About a week in, I started to notice quite a few short hairs popping up along my hairline, and it has been increasing since. At this point, those that started a couple weeks ago have been joined by an army reaching about an inch into my hair. As I run a comb though it, the shorter new hairs are clearly visible popping up, and there are a lot. It's easy to see as my hair is several inches long and these pop straight up about an inch now.

I have now been taking C60/OO for 5 months. First couple of months dosing at 30mg daily. Then a couple of months at around 20mg daily. And the last month 15mg daily. Feel/see no different in any way whatsoever.

Does anyone remember this guy from 2010?

“Imagine a pill that you could take every day that would extend your by years and keep you healthy for longer. You’d probably pay a lot for such a pill. Vladimir Skulachev looks like he is getting close to selling it to you. The global media has been a flutter with Skulachev’s recent announcement that he has developed a ‘cure for aging’. The Russian biochemist is the head of the Bioenergetics Department at Moscow State University and has been working on the problem of aging for 40 years. His cure is an anti-oxidant that he claims extends median lifespan and (if you’ll believe it) removed a cataract from his eye.”
http://singularityhu...-a-fluke-video/

Fast forward 2 years and this is now what he’s up to.

“Experiments aimed at developing a “drug against aging” have been under way in Russia for several years. The drug, called “Skulachev ions” (SkQ), has passed clinical tests and will be available in pharmacies as Visomitin, a drug that prevents age-related eye diseases. So far, it is used to treat dry eye syndrome. Alexei Torgashev of Russky Reporter spoke with Vladimir Skulachev, the inventor of the drug and head of the project about its potential.”

Does anyone know if this is on the level? Does his work have anything to do with C60?
Thanks.

Well, seeing Dr. Gunther Blobel, Nobel Prize winner, who I have had communication with in years past, say that he is the world's best biochemist/bio-engineering scientist lends him great credibility.

Dr. Blobel is a genius of the highest credibility.

Bottoms up!

I have to travel for a few days and can't take my daily dose... So I'm doing the next best thing. Taking about 200ml of C60oO today... And pocketing my resveratrol.

Nasty tasting indeed...

Well, that link is to plastoquinone, which is the antioxidant part of SkQ1, but SkQ1 also has a charged group that is designed to anchor it in the mitochondrial membrane. The charged group is attached to the plastoquinone by a ten-carbon alkyl linker, which is remarkably similar to the adduct that would result from C60 adding to the double bond in oleic acid- a powerful antioxidant group attached to a charged group by an eight-carbon alkyl linker. I think they have a lot in common.
