i heard noopept can lead to undesired sexual side effects so that is why I have steered clear of it
Does anyone here actually "feel" the effects of their nootropics?

I believe it depends on the person, i don't have any problems. Been on it 3 cycles, no problem, sometimes i get the desire to fuck other women but that's about it.

The answer to the original question is very much 'yes'. Taking too much leads to a noticeably speedy physical effect, which you can get caught up in, but is still hard to miss if you are paying attention. This can be entertaining but can be counterproductive above a certain level. Impatience is a giveaway as people around you start to appear to be thinking and behaving in slow motion. Queuing at the checkout becomes hellish, as you will the people ahead of you to just get it together already! But on the 'right' dose you could miss it if you don't happen to be paying attention to your mind. A simple test seems to be to imagine something, say a white sphere hovering in space in front of you, a model of something on a table, anything. It may sound funny, but often I think about what is inside something I'm looking at - say, a building, a hifi speaker, a book, anything. If I get an incredibly vivid cross section like an HD animation in glowing colour suddenly popping up in my mind, then that gives me a pretty clear idea that the nootropics are working. Nootropics effect thinking, for me they particularly effect visual, conceptual and creative thinking and memory. If you aren't engaged in those activities, there may be subtle effects, or nothing at all. You may be very surprised when you realise that a small, focused part of your experience is changed quite radically.
