I've tried self medicating my crippling chronic fatigue for around 5 years and the only drug/supplement I found worth taking was Armodafinil (Nuvigil). The lack of fatigue was incredible but unfortunately the negative side-effects (loss of appetite, headache) made me cease using the substance. I recently did a bit of research on adrafinil which seems to give users similar effects without the loss of appetite (the side effect I found most problematic with Nuvigil). How should a adrafinil newcomer go about implementing this substance into his daily stack? I'm currently taking sulbutiamine 3x a week and need something for my 4 off days (also a minor boost around 8 hours after taking the sulbutiamine when the crash hits me). I don't drink so the reports I've read about liver problems aren't too concerning. Any preferred method of ingestion? Recommended starting dose? Is it safe to take every day if I plan on micro-dosing the 3 days a week I take sulbutiamine? Any other relevant information would be greatly appreciated.

I tend to be sensitive to stimulants, but I had some really severe cardiovascular symptoms for the first week.

I don't intend to continue taking adrafinil every day - I just wanted to try taking it daily for a week or two to get a good idea of the drug's effects. Within a week or so of 300mg a day, the stimulation leveled off and now I'm definitely feeling the positive aspects of the drug.

My advice is to not escalate the dose if you feel that it isn't that effective, unless you want to risk spending the day climbing the walls. It also seems to mix poorly with other stimulants, aside from caffeine. Even mixing it with panax ginseng gave me alarming panicky feelings for the first week. But like I said, I tend to be very VERY sensitive to stimulants, so your mileage may vary.

I take mine first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with coffee. I feel it within an hour.

I'm actually going to give it a try this week at 250mg every morning. Might bump it up to 300mg. Other things that I am taking that might synergise with it are American Ginseng, Yerba Mate and Green Tea.

UPDATE:

Tuesday: took 50mg and noticed mental clarity and lack of fatigue but this was very short lived. Exhausted for the rest of the day.

Wednesday: 300mg on an empty stomach upon waking up. Noticeable lack of fatigue for a few hours but lack of sleep the previous night (from dosing caffeine too late in the evening) negated most of the effects.

Thursday: No adrafinil as I took 900mg of sulbutiamine. Had a decent nights sleep for the first time in a while almost no daytime tiredness.

I will likely take 300mg tomorrow afternoon since I'm working late so expect and update Saturday.

Have you ever tried NALT with a multivitamin (for it's B vits, C and Copper) and some caffeine? Also, if you've been tested for Vitamin B12 deficiency, please tell me they didn't use a serum test for it? It doesn't assess deficiencies properly. Many people who've used Methyl-B12 (I wouldn't bother with any other form) initially feel fatigue for the first week or two but once the deficiency starts to heal/repair itself, fatigue seems to melt away for many people.

I take a B-complex vitamin and regular multi which contains cooper. I've been taking adrafinil on and off for the last week and am somewhat impressed. I'm still experience daytime tiredness, but it's more manageable. I have two questions about the drug:

1. Will this show up on a drug test? I get randoms at work and can't afford to come up dirty. I had a prescription for Nuvigil and can obtain another if that is the substance I will test positive for.
2. If I take milk thistle with adrafinil every day will it still be taxing on my liver?
