Long story kinda short. Smoke pot all day er day. Drank apmost every weekend, hard alcohol. First time taking benzos( xanax) was 15 going to hawaii. I smoked concentrates for the most part with almost no effect due to tolerance. Any ways now that im 18 i have started to reap what ive sown. I had some horrible psilocybin trips on some massive doses( probably cause it was about a week or two after my first time trying mdma) then starting taking and snorting benzos to chill out. Now that ive been sober for 4 months i am havind GAD, SA, panic attacks, vertigo, negative in general. I smoked some weed cause i got curious again and was totally dp/dr.
Im guessing i did some gaba receptor damage.
Ive been taking inositol, l theanine, taurine, NAC. And drink kava on occasion. I still have horrible anxiety and my heart feels like ots getting injected with adrenaline.
I want to raise my GABA naturally(receptors, long run) even if it means taking a antagonist. Any suggestions? Im sure there is plenty out their in the same boat

kava kava? IIRC, that's bad for your kidneys, I wouldn't drink that and would sober up entirely and start working out HIIT style and if I took anything for a year, it would be strong anti-oxidants. Maybe even C60, and I've only even put it on my skin in very small doses once or twice, but at your age I'd give it a try. I'd also take advantage of low life insurance rates at your age and sign up with Rudi Hoffman for cryonics insurance so you can benefit from future medicine. Seriously, they don't put you in an electric freezer anymore. Prior to deanimation you are given supplements that prevent as much damage as possible from actually dieing, then when you deanimate (or would have otherwise died), they halt your metabolism and cool different parts of you at different rates, a process that virtually eliminates freezing damage and results in having you "vitrified" or being in a glass like state where you are preserved to a very high degree. The nano science that will eventually restore you to perfect health is already here and ahead of schedule. In the mean time, your brain might also be copied and turned into an artificial intelligence of you that you can synch up with later. I strongly recommend cryonics, it's best to sign up at your age and it's something else where you reap what you sow, so reap a cure.

In the mean time, I'd check out all this forum has to offer, I'm sure there are lots of ways to improve the state of your brain and there are lots of intelligent people here that are very passionate about brain health who can give you alot of help. Many have come here with various problems and have recovered at least to some extent if not completely. But in your case, I wouldn't miss the chance for cryonics and you could always leave the insurance to your kids or a non profit/charity if you change your mind.

Don't forget to post in the "introduce yourself" thread.

Edit:
And don't forget to read up on William O'Rights (Bill O'Rights... yes real person/cryonicist who had changed his name). He's currently deanimated, but the two of you might make good friends.

Sounds like youve shaken up your energy and organ health.
Support liver energy with Liver tonic herbs like marys thistle will help calm things down + Omega 3's and CoQ10 for heart and kidney health. Acupuncture can help calm things down also - just tell the practitioner youve got anxiety stuff going on... they will know what to do and what herbs to suggest...

Getting into something like martial arts, tai chi or yoga will settle things down the quickest and will repair organ and energetics. These forms of training can also trigger similar drug highs... with no comedowns or negative side effects...

My suggestion is you withdraw everything you are taking, stop doing drugs and give yourself 1 or 2 years recovery. (bar a few supplements)

Try and fill your time up as much as possible, get a job or work voluntarily or get on a course of some description.
Regular exercise - a marital art, sport, yoga anything like that.
eat a reasonably healthy diet
CBT for the anxiety. It will work better than the drugs in this case, your brain is already fucked up enough as it is.
Mindfulness practice daily - doesn't have to be very long, as short as 10 mins
good sleep hygine
stay away from drugs.

Omega 3 1-2 grams. Cyclical multi vit (once every 2 or 3 days) and for sleep 3 mg melatonin and 2-3 grams of tryptophan (combined with b6 and vit c), the tryptopan might chill out your anxiety somewhat.

Take a GABA antagonist and you will regret it on a level I can't explain. Its not that much different to injecting Naltrexone in high doses in an opioid addict.

There are no consistently reported withdrawal effects from tryptophan.

It will be unplesant and just because it acts as an antagonist doesn't mean a change in regulation will happen.

IIRC tryptophan is also bad for lifespan... I'd read something to that effect a while ago.

On the other hand so are sleep disturbances, a shit ton of anxiety etc...I haven't read anything about Tryptophan being bad for lifespan but if it is I think the benifits out weigh the risks. You may disagree.

I'd try melatonin first. It gets alot of flack, but that's b/c the instructions on the bottles don't match the human trials. In the trials, it was given 2 hours before the target sleep time, on the bottles it just say take x daily (maybe before bed). It does take that much time to work, but it is the stuff your body uses to put you to sleep naturally. It's hard to find the 300mcg size, but smaller works best, the higher doses can lead to head aches. I haven't heard anything bad about valarian root either.

Valrian root is primaily GABA active (mostly A) like a benzo. Not a good idea for his history. Otherwise I agree.

I would strongly recommend the following herbs, listed by order of priority/potential benefit in your circumstance:

1. Bacopa Monnieri (Brahmi)

2. Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha)

3. Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola)

All three of these herbs should be taken at night to start, 1 tablet each on an empty stomach. These herbs, which are medhya rasayanas in Ayurvedic medicine, have had a significant amount of modern medical research to support their ability to heal and enhance the central nervous system. I don't give any credence to the spiritual aspects of Ayurveda, but the medicinal aspects are solid and clinically relevant. Once you've trialed these herbs for at least 3 months to discern their effects, I would use the following to further facilitate the repair of your system, 1 to 2 vials in the morning on an empty stomach:

4. Panax Ginseng/Ginkgo Biloba combination

A word of caution: Gotu Kola can raise liver enzymes in a minority of people, including myself. That said, I would trial the first two herbs before attempting Gotu Kola, and then proceed with informed caution. Alternatively, you can skip the Gotu Kola and simply move on to the Panax/Ginkgo combination.

I hope this is helpful for you friend.

I think friend we both have very different opinions on the view of "significant research support".

Thanks for the suggestions. Im ordering some bacopa, rhodiola. Gotu kola is a no go for me as it is somewhat a downregulator in the run. I am considering ginseng and probably Stabilium
