its bad how messed up the brands are right now... i recall a time years back when i got this good brand that always work and boost cognition and mood high. but now more and more brand are sucking, complains left and right about chemical taste making people sick.

plastic brewers making people sick, seem metal strainer a better alternative...

folgers and maxwell house both had a lot of complains of foul chemical taste but i found other lesser names to be of the same problem...

i tested enough non-organics so far to not ever try non-organics again, a lot had chemical taste and induced stomach discomfort...the

man the non -organic industry is a mess these days.... it seem there too much pesticide in everything....

but organic brews aren't always good either. i tried nature's promise, that stuff made me sleepy. and fresh market's organic brand's close to 0 in effectiveness, at least didn't make me sleepy though.

stop and shop and fresh market been exhausted in terms of brand testing.

i only recently began brand testing my local whole foods and shaw's . wfs has a lot more brands to test it seems. good thing about locals is you can conveniently refund without losing shipping fee.

anybody got some good organic brew recommendation to ease the search?

Depends upon your personal preferences. Green Mountain medium roast whole bean coffees usually work for me, at a relatively low cost, for organic.

Whole foods should have some decent beans, and Trader Joe's sells decent blends.

Or http://www.fairwayma...artment-coffee/ Their coffee-buyer is a fanatic. The house blend is very good, or you can get more exotic beans. They'll send fresh roasted beans, you should grind as needed. Do not refrigerate or freeze the beans, it negatively affects the flavor. Just keep in a cool, dark cupboard.

I'd be less concerned about "organic" than about "fair trade". "Organic" has become a marketing gimmick. Fair trade supports small growers, who are often too poor to use pesticides anyway.

The supermarket brands blend beans to meet a price point. When the price of beans goes up, they economize. One way is to use robusta beans, instead of arabica. Robusta invariably cause heartburn, and the flavor is rougher, but they do have caffeine. The flavor is somewhat harsh. It does foam, such that real espresso has to contain 10 to 20% robusta. When I came back from Italy with a serious espresso habit, I thought I was getting an ulcer until my doctor got me to stop drinking it every morning. Also, paper filters remove cafeic acid, a component in coffee implicated in coronary and arterial disease. The gold metal filters, or French press methods do not remove this. The plastics used for funnels or coffee makers are chemically inert, and I wouldn;t expect them to contaminate your brew; but if you are still concerned, you can get an all glass Chemex drip coffee maker. Expensive and fragile, but beautiful. Or get some lab glassware and filter paper.,

I find lowland-grown coffee from hot humid climates (most Guatemalan beans) has a bitter flavor I personally object to. Highland coffee such as Columbia Supremo is more to my liking.

PS: the darker the roast, the less caffeine. Roasting destroys caffeine.

I've been using a company called C.o.ffee Be.an D.irect and am very pleased. They sell both roasted and unroasted beans in a wide range of bag sizes... I generally go for the cost effective 5-pound size. Also available on Amazon prime.

i have reason to beleive organic is more than "marketing gimmick". it may be more about getting pesticide poisoned or not.

man i don't exactly get the mechanism in explaining the range of effects between different brands from making you sleepy, making you feel strange to producing powerful boost in cognition and mood. if someone with expertise can intellegently explain this, i'm open to listening.

well practical -wise , coffees from local stores can easily be refunded without loss to shipping and wait period restriction.

loads of complains on mh and folgers...

http://www.coffeedet...e-gone-bad.html

i found organic allegro to be ok in boost and keeping away caffeine withdrawal symptoms but its no wonder coffee.

any one have found what they think to be wonder coffee, i'm all ears.

in my experience, folgers instant was that for like a year or two then acquire a chemical taste that make any sensible person think twice before drinking it. subsequently, as i was forced to explore other brands was when i realized there were so many weak boost crap brands out there.
