For sure, piet3r... Anyway, I think the cardiovascular approach is well covered by the rest of the supplementation ... Great research yours :-)

I buy my Jigsaw from eBay US (I'm from Argentina)... In my case, I take 2 tablets a day (morning/noon), and with that I have covered much of the day (thanks to the time release system)... Then, at night, I again take magnesium but in the glycinate form, that helps to get a deeper sleep...

Thus, a Jigsaw bottle lasts me 4 months... And the glycinate alternatives are quite affordable...

And besides this, I always put my filtered water in a large glass bottle (4 liters), to which I add 1 gram of magnesium chloride flakes per liter ... I use this water to cook and drink ...

After several testings I found the concentration of 1 gram per liter to be ideal: it doesn´t alter the taste of water and doesn´t have a laxative effect...

In the case of your father, perhaps you should consider the option of giving him Magnesium taurate, a form of magnesium that is focused on cardiovascular health... The extra taurine (405 mg per capsule) helps the heart function better...

A good option (and I'm tempted to try it) seems to be this brand:

If you look at the reviews, you'll find things like:
"Taurine definitely helped with both arrhythmia and heart failure symptoms."
"good for heart palps"
"Lowered blood pressure"

I consider it a good choice since I have not seen the inclusion of taurine in your father's regimen...

Thanks for your suggestions.

Are you aware that chloride is acidic? You may wanna check your urine pH to make sure your not too acidic (ideal range 6.5-7.5), make sure you do it after at least 6 hours of no drink (not even water) or food, so ideally after sleep. I recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.co...line food guide

Taurine for cardiovascular disease ranges between 2-6 grams, the higher end of that dose range being used for people with existing cardiovascular problems. Therefore the 400mg isn't gonna do much, unlike the 750mg of malic acid potentially..

I take Source Naturals Taurine 1gram capsules, 2 a day with meals so I'm not against Taurine at all. Partly for the Carnosine potential side effect and partly as a mitochondrial and anti glycation agent. A little marketing from LEF did further strengthen my stance though:

Currently I'm debating on 2 tocotrienols + sesame ligans from life extension or 2 Jigsaw magnesium as a replacement for the OmegaVia (which is a big deal for me to temporarily remove that ;) )
