I'd like some feedback please on a plan of action for a family member who is 65 years of age. I've been noticing some increased forgetfulness over the last few months and she recently had a brain scan which showed the following:

"Mild decreased activity is noted in the right mesial temporal region."

Right now she is being classified as an MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) case. But based on the results of the scan I'm unsure if this may end up possibly leading to Alzheimer's disease or dementia. In either case, can you please recommend a course of action including any supplements that you feel may delay any onset of either condition or help to restore proper cognitive function.

(She does not want to proceed with genetic testing at this time).

Nutra ingredients just put up a brief summary of recent research on the prevention of cognitive decline with dietary supplements/ interventions - some good ideas/ recommendations here:

Also recommend Spectracell testing to check out basic nutritional deficiencies that might exist.

I assume she has had basic bloods drawn and a psychiatric exam to ensure this is not a case of depression or other neuropsychiatric disease?

Did the scan show anything else? Placs?

Can you give a full list of symptoms & signs you've noticed her displaying?

I have a few ideas.

There is also the UCLA protocol for reversing age related memory loss, which I am attaching because the board will not allow me to link to it:
