I've tried a few different brands of coffee with the same outcome - I get light headed after drinking a cup of it. Any theories as to why this happens? Any possible solutions to this? I would like to drink coffee for its health benefits and to keep more alert during working hours.

well sickness can affect this. but i came across literature that say caffeine make some people feel confused. and heard coffee just doesn't produce stimulus for some folks due to genetic differences and all.
i mean there are other substances with health benefits as well: green tea, matcha, guarana. perhap another one would be effective for you.

Please consider an allergic reaction to molds that are omnipresent in cheap and even quality grade coffee. A certain Mr. Dave Asprey, the man behind the idea of the "Bulletproof" initiative, does have a lot to tell about this matter. Feel free to search for Mr Asprey and his Bulletproof Initiative; every searching engine will have you stumble upon it. He discribes how to make a coffee that should not make you light headed or fogged up. You can also buy his own product. If its really that good or if its just his way of making a buck on the side I dont know. Still you can just find good coffee on your own and follow his instuctions an how to properly prep it to avoid the problem you have (and I had, also).
If that helps, you might consider his other tips on mold-free nutrition, healthy food and eben life-hacking.
I am sorry this post turned out to be kind of an advertisment for a diet-guru.
But in your case, taking a look at his ideas will lead to the right answers
Wish you a wonderful summer
Joe
