So, i started taking carnosine and it gave me surprisingly great results (more energy, less sleep, less anxiety, less appetite) that last for almost 2 weeks now.

I did not expect that (took it for a different reason) and i'm trying to research how and why it works for me (and another family member) but not for others (including most on the web and another family member).

the best i could figure it out, carnosine is broken down to histidine and that's transformed to histamine. histamine has stimulant properties in the brain including promoting wake.

so, i'm thinking i have low histamine levels and carnosine fixes that. while searching, i came across histapenia: http://www.digitalna...nd/C376401.html

i've heard that before but thought it was voodoo science. reading it now, it actually makes sense. high copper supposedly makes low histamine. i recently self diagnosed myself with high functioning autism. turns out autistics do have low zinc/copper ratio and benefit from zinc and carnosine supplements.

not sure why the zinc/copper imbalance, but i do know that my home has copper water pipes. i may need to find a way to test drinking water for copper and copper blood or hair levels.

anyone else deals with similar issues or has any opinions on histapenia?

thanks!

yes it is very real very few have this genetic mutation thats why people don't belive it exists.

Social Anxiety Disorder Linked to High Serotonin Levels

http://articles.merc...y-disorder.aspx

which makes sense because Overmethylators (histapenia) produce too much serotonin.

here is a treatment I put together the doses might be a little high so figure your own dosages:

nicotinic acid (flush kind) - 1000mg Daily
Hydroxo B12 - 1mg Daily
Electrolytes - (No idea,)
Glutathione - 1000mg daily
Folinic acid - 1600mg daily
Histidine - 1000mg daily
zinc - 50mg daily
carnosine (I don't know if you need this if you already take histidine or the other way around , because they both  raise histamine lvls) - 1000mg daily
Manganese - 10mg daily
Vitamin c - 2000mg daily
b6 (as P5P) - 50mg daily
molybdenum -500 mcg daily
Pantothenic - 1000mg daily
Quercetin - 2000mg daily
vitamin E - 1000mg daily
chromium - 200 mcg daily

Make sure you get the correct forms of each suppelemnt for example like nicotinic acid and not just niacin.

here is a product I found on the net says they got a supplement for overmethylators, havent tried it yet tho.

B12 in any form will boost methylation. You should give it a try. Be careful with methylation supplements, they can cause very high levels of B vitamins. In my experience, they can be counterproductive.

thanks for replying!

that makes a lot of sense and i'll research it further. I'm already taking most of the things you mentioned above.

but, what's the rational for taking B12 and B9 while overmethylator?
