Note that I answered no for the "Food, Fasting, Diet, Calories" (This is to confirm you are posting in the right forum section).

this is about that pathological hunger/craving for overeating that made me gain weight over a long time. it's more prominent when bored, tired and stressed. very prominent at the end of the day and less so in AM.

this is the short list of various supplements that I found helped me with that pathological hunger and unmask the real hunger that is physiologic and helps me with healthy eating:

5HTP

DMAE

Lithium

Lamictal

Nicotine

Gingko

Kanna

Rhodiola

Carnosine

Fasoracetam

Caffeine

Amantadine

Cyprahaptidine

Atarax

“SAMe”

sacred blue lotus

piracetam

what would be a common denominator of those to explain that beneficial effects?

I omitted some other things that I know how they work like: Barberine/metformin/clomid/HCG

there are lots of numerous other supplements that didn't work, hence skipped here.

Thanks!

Hiya

interesting post. I also overeat all the time - in fact I cant stop eating, I need to eat snacks every hour or so, it's annoying but I only weight 63kg (size 1.85 meters) so I dont gain weight at all.

Anyway just an update on your supps

  • DMAE
  • Piracetam
  • Carnosine

Those are the three that have the most profound effect on me (self-diagnosed Asperger, getting diagnosis this month I hope). I was struggling remembering things, including dreams. Now I take 3.6g of Piracetam and I'm good - but I get aggressive. I'm a little less obsessed now but I also take 2x Zinc carnosine each day.

I would try to minimize your stack. I took Ginkgo too but I noticed it can really mess with your digestion longterm.

I am more articulate on Piracetam now but I feel a little stupid compared to last year. Last year things definitely were better. Still trying to figure shit out .. it's mostly that I am more anxious which is due to my high stress job and inability to cope with it.

Currently experimenting with Coloracetam and Phenylpiracetam but so far only Phenylpiracetam seems to work well on me.

Will get back in touch again when I have time, very busy week :(

See you

farware, thanks for the info that greatly overlaps with my results.

I only now realized that overeating is common in autism that I probably have too, but never formally diagnosed. maybe this is why there are so many GI problems in autism. I too had various food allergies and IBS before I made some progress and cleaned my diet from junk foods and worst excesses.

don't get me wrong I never ever take all of those supplements at the same time. my basic (everyday) stack is vitamins (B+C+D+E), carnosine, and NAC, + some prescription meds. Li in PM only. During weekdays, I add DMAE and ALCAR. Lately I have a rotation schedule and try various things in PM to limit PM hunger and overeating. My above list is derived from what works for that very specific problem.

one additional caveat is some things work for a short time and later stop working and hence, there should be a rotation schedule and maybe combinations.

If I knew about underlying mechanisms, that would cut on trial and error.
