Hi guys.

I am a 23 year old male that has recently reduced my calorie intake, however, not too much because I am still pretty young.
Can CR reduce the height that you have even if you are getting all the nutrients that you need (through food & supplements)?

I would say that if you are still growing then CR could reduce your potential height, but other than that as long as you are getting enough calcium I would not think it would affect your current height. People 200 year ago used to be pretty short thanks to less food consumption.

Clarification: This thread is about after you have stopped growing.

CRON shouldn't shrink your height. CRAN might shrink your height in an older individual. Recent studies of CRON bone density suggest that structure of bone material may be less dense, but the structure is still strong unlike osteoporosis.

I guess it is possible that you will shrink a tiny bit in the short run, if you do not manage to maintain muscle mass that suports your spine. But on the long run you could even more likely maintain height (and length ... :) ) compared to your same aged buddies because you would not have a more sudden loss in muscle mass later in age. Also I imagine that the spinal discs should not loose in size so much as you age. (Probably through reduced collagen cross links) But that is all speculation.

Did any of you long term CR practioneers shrink?

Also, even low calorie (malnutritioned?) top models did not shrink noticeably in the past, they are still all prety tall.
