As a part time vegetarian and part time pescetarian I do sometimes indulge in a bit more fruit than is advised here. But it makes me feel better as it provides me with energy from nutrients, vitamins and natural sugars. But with that said I choose my fruits wisely, opting for the low fructose, high nutrient variety. One might think immediately of berries when thinking of this but there are a few other's.
The ones I consume with some regularity are
Asian pears (and other variety of pears)
Red plums
Black and red grapes (high anti-oxidant content)
cantaloupe
Strawberries
Blueberries
Bananas
I eat berries almost every day, as well as a banana or two. I incorporate the other's in when I can afford it since my shopping list must consist of a certain amount of other produce first.
