method will eliminate the requirement for multiple virus delivery and
the possible immunogenic reactions, as well as offering the ability to
deliver macro-constructs encoding opsins that are sensitive to a broad
spectral range to spatially targeted areas of retinal degeneration. Such
spatially resolved delivery of genes to the peripheral retina/macula is
ideal for sensitizing retinal areas that have degenerated, thus paving
the way toward restoring lost vision in RP/AMD patients."
