That's a hell of a good question. Smog, Traffic, expensive gas, expensive houses (but less than they used to be!) Not enough water...What are these people getting for their money?
On the plus side, much of CA is within an hour's drive of either skiing or surfing. Warm in the winter, dry in the summer. Good Mexican food.

Born here. Lived in So. Cal for 23 years, and am currently going to school up in Nor. Cal.
