So the blood serotonin test is typically done to confirm the diagnosis or carcinoid tumor but are there any general norms for serotonin?
According to http://slu.adam.com/...id=1&gid=003562 the normal range is 101 to 283 ng/mL.
I know this serotonin blood test does not correlate to the serotonin level in brain however my score was 80 ng/mL which is kinda low (after l-tryptophan supplementation). I am asking because the minute I eat SSRI/SNRI or drug that boosts serotonin my IBS disappears. Is there any correlation?
