The paper where the inventor used epitalon to activate telomerase in human fibrblasts used 0.05ug/ml (1). Ages ago, I did a back of the fag packet calculation that said I'd need to take 2mg subQ to get that, assuming equal distribution of epitalon across all liquid in the body.
The problem is, there was 1 more research paper on epitalon from the same guy [2], then he did some experiments in giving it to people (it did increase telomere length): it was here (3), but now I can't find it. But I do remember they gave them 100ug intra muscular injections. So the 0.1 mg figure does check out.
But I've seen no proper dosage studies. We don't know if too much of a good thing is bad. Bill Andrews also claims epitalon doesn't activate telomerase (at RNA level). So, it might be a purely antioxidant action. But I've seen no further work on either side of the argument.
We just don't know. It is very frustrating.
