This question came to my mind today after discovering recently that a few of the supplements that I already take (or used to take) unknowingly to me contained some form of choline.

For pre-workout I have a tub of Omega Sports Ultima. The bodybuilding community raves about the benefits of this stuff inside and outside of the gym so I bought it and after a few uses of various doses I stopped taking it because it makes me crash HARD. Come to realize that it contains Alpha-GPC, CDP Choline and DMAE.

I also have a few tubs of SNS Focus-XT that I use when I really want to get some serious studying done before an exam. I love this stuff and have dealt with the side-effects it gives me because the focus and concentration I get from it outweigh the negatives but it messes my stomach up and again it makes me crash hard. Today I checked and it contains Choline Bitartrate, ALCAR, and DMAE.

Also, I've been experimenting with Piracetam and I know that Choline has synergistic effects which I would like to experience but any amount of Choline I ingest makes me crash.

It seems that this may prove to be a barrier to me experiencing the positive effects from some of these supplements. Is there anything that I can do or take to combat this effect?

The reason why I am attributing it to the Choline is because when I was taking the Choline with the Piracetam I was only taking Choline and nothing else.

I actually took some DMAE powder this morning with my Piracetam dose and it gave me a highly energetic, somewhat euphoric feeling.

Hey bro where did you get you DMAE powder at? I've been only stacking choline with Piracetam. I was never experiencing any crashes or negative side effects to say the least. I would like to experience this euphoric feeling soon as well. haha Thanks for the post, it's legit dude.

The one I have is from NutraPlanet but I cannot find it on their site anymore. It was very cheap BTW if I remember correctly

So I think you may have been right about the DMAE being the cause of the crash rather than the choline MrHappy.

I recently received some Aniracetam and some Oxiracetam to see if I would notice any effects because I wasn't getting good results from the Piracetam I was taking.

Well the first day I decided to take a 750 mg dose of Aniracetam. While I didn't notice much, I did notice that my brain didn't feel as sluggish while I was studying (MCAT) as I had felt with Piracetam and I was reading back at my normal level. I took another 750 mg dose after lunch and I have to say it made me feel really great. I was highly motivated and dove right back into my books for hours. My mood was elevated for the rest of the day as was my verbal fluency. This was almost the opposite of what I was noticing from my piracetam.

The second day I decided to try the Oxiracetam out so I took a 750 mg dose in the morning and went into studying. I felt okay but I didn't get the same result right off the bat as I did with the Aniracetam and I knew I had a long day of studying ahead of me so I went back to the Aniracetam and once again it had my head feeling great and I went into a great zone.

The only side-effect that I began to notice was a slight headache at the end of the day. I know that choline can be used to alleviate this so I took a small 300 mg dose of choline to see what would happen. I didn't notice any of the negative effects that I had suspected. No crash, no sluggishness, no fogginess, and I continued to feel great and the headache was quickly alleviated.

I suspect that it is the DMAE that has caused me to crash from my other supplements and not the choline. I also suspect that I may not have a good quality piracetam because of the sporadic results that I have experienced, mostly negative. Thank you for bringing this to my attention
