I have read through a great deal of the threads/posts here on multi-vitamins. I do see that AOR Ortho Core and Multi Basics and LEF Mix are recommended the most. But I honestly can't afford that at this time. I am currently taking the Vitamin Shoppe Ultimate Man multivitamin (http://www.vitaminsh....jsp?id=VS-2750). But it does suffer from the usual problems cheap multi-vitamins have. It only has one form of vitamin E, bad forms for some of the minerals and vitamins, some mega dosing. I'm not sure if it's really worth paying $25 for it. But $25 for a three month supply is about my limit for a multi-vitamin. I was thinking I should maybe just find a cheaper multi-vitamin and supplement an E complex and vitamin K2 (MK7) separately since most cheap multi-vitamins don't have those. I am taking magnesium glycinate and zinc picolinate separately already.

Here are some of the multi-vitamins I was considering:
Jarrow Formulas Multi 1-to-3 (http://www.iherb.com...ablets/245?at=0)
Source Naturals Mega-One (http://www.iherb.com...blets/1276?at=0)
Now Foods ADAM (http://www.iherb.com...gels/23364?at=0)
Source Naturals Life Force (http://www.iherb.com...sules/1253?at=0)

I had looked at Nature's Way Alive and New Chapter Every Man's One Daily, but no one here seemed to be really into those for the most part. But those were the ones I found looking through threads that were more in my price range if I were to separately supplement some vitamins. I would really appreciate further advice and other options.

I would get the Vitamin Shoppe branded Vitamin Code(Garden of Life) product and take 1/2 or 1/3 of it. You should be shooting for a near optimal diet and only take a partial amount of a multi to supplement what you might not be getting.

My diet is not exactly the best. I do drink plenty of water and get a good amount of fiber each day, but most days I get little to none of fruits and vegetables. I doubt sandwiches and pretzels and bowls of cereal are the best sources for vitamins and minerals. Dinner can range from decent to not very good for you. It is something I should work on changing, but for now I'd like to at least get optimal amounts from a multi-vitamin.

For that Garden of Life multi-vitamin, is it really much better than the Jarrow Multi or others? Isn't it kind of similar to the Nature's Way Alive and New Chapter's Every Man's?

Vimmortal is on sale right now. I think $21 for a month's supply. Since I take less than the recommended dose, it usually lasts 2 months.

If 20$/month counts as affordable, the generally well regarded AOR Multi Basics would also fit the bill. I will be switching to it when my NOW Adam (softgel variety, the other one is a bad joke) runs out, which is cheaper yet but too strong (I am currently using 1 instead of 2 pills, at which point you get a half year supply for less than 30$).

In any case, Adam needs to be complemented with K2 (I'd recommend LEF's Super K) and potentially a mixed E. I also think additional D3 is a good idea, but as usual, it depends on your blood tests.

As for Ortho Core, that thing is way overpriced, I agree. Plus there is a lot of stuff in there that has no business being in a multi.

I was considering the NOW Adam softgel at one a day. The LEF Super K does seem like the best option to get a mix of MK4 and MK7. I'm not sure for the E complex yet, but there is the Jarrow Gamma E 300. I don't think that has all the E vitamin forms though.

Where do I find this? Want to check it.

For now, I eat greens powder. I will buy either Thorne or Innate one daily. I have very little money (having pension), otherwise I hade already bought those.

I am also interested in more options of multi vitamins. But they have to have good forms, like Methylcobalamin for B12, bisglycinat och picolinat for iron and so on (if they are synthetic).

Would the LEF Super K be effective at every other day? It sounded like MK7 might be effective because of the long half-life on it, but I'm not as sure for MK4. Also what about the Jarrow Gamma E at every other day as well? I mainly ask to maximize cost savings.
