LEGIT Tianeptine source.

Reformed-Redan's Photo Reformed-Redan 09 May 2013

Please let me know if the tianeptine you bought from newmind.com was legit.

It was NOT, not even close. Too white, crunchy, wrong visible consistency, wrong solubility in water, and no bitter taste. I am looking for a qualitative lab now because we cannot have scumbags mislabeling these products. It is not the monetary loss that is important here. At best, it is adulteration of a reagent that could be critical to bioscience endeavors and at worst the adulteration of a drug.

This appears to be an attempt by "LiftMode," who sells on Amazon no less, to spin off a little sideline business called "NewMind" to sell compounds as "reagents" that the FDA will not permit to be sold as supplements because they have medicinal value. They may perceive that it decreases their liability and hassle by by-passing the FDA. NOT! I will either interest the FDA or find another federal agency interested in the problem.

"NewMind" = "LiftMode" (same people, or person, with same recording at same phone number)

I suggest that anyone who has an unopened jar labeled "LiftMode Tianeptine Sodium (Stablin, CAS 30123-17-2) > 98% Pure" keep it sealed so as to help maintain a "chain of custody" of the fake product if the feds need it to nail these people.

I will keep the community informed.

I ordered the product amfonelic acid. This product is very easy to check if it is false. It gives a high very clean due to the absence of peripheral side effects and at very low dosages, since is a pure dopamine reuptake inhibitor..Did you try the tianeptine you received?
I will get in touch.

Yeah, I wouldn't touch that stuff with a yardstick.

I just received my tianeptine sodium powder sourced from ebay today.
Having used the regular Servier pills a lot in the past, I can tell you that
this works perfectly! I'm very happy to know that this is so much cheaper
and easily obtainable.

Yes, Nyles7 has been very reputable with several orders over various months. I attempted to order a larger qty from "NewMind" / "LiftMode" at a very cheap price last month and got screwed by receiving an unknown substance. I would not order table salt from those people now. Substituting a compound like that is a very dangerous thing to do.

I feel like I should at least give NewMind credit for their candidness, rare in business today. Their response anticipated my best suggestion, which would have been "be more careful." As you can see, they have said with specificity how they will "be more careful" in the future.

I did confirm their solubility explanation with a small bowl of water, which pretty much exhausts my chemistry capability.

Yes, there is a reason for the FDA...yikes!

"Hi Bruce,

Mark from NewMind here. We read your comments on this forum with concern.

Before offering Tianeptine on NewMind.com, we conducted HPLC and LC/MS testing with Analytical Labs in Anaheim on our "Tianeptine Sodium" batch (against a known Tianeptine reference sample). Test results confirmed that the material was indeed Tianeptine of the specified purity.

This testing was done before offering Tianeptine for sale on NewMind.com, and we would not have sold the material without such independent verification. We would be glad to send you the test data if desired.

Subsequent customer inquries and solubility testing showed that the material could not be the correct Sodium Salt form of Tianeptine. Tianeptine sodium is freely water soluble, whereas our Tianeptine is not.

In addition to third party analytical testing, we should have conducted our own internal testing to further verify the material, and we deeply regret that we relied only upon HPLC and LC/MS.

Based on the available evidence, we conclude that the batch of material we mistakenly sold as Tianeptine sodium is Tianeptine free acid (non salt form).

We are extremely sorry about this serious error, and we have refunded your order in full. We have removed the Tianeptine product listing from NewMind.com, until such time as we can find an alternate supplier.

In the future we will conduct our own in-house solubility and melting point tests, as well as third party HPLC and LC/MS or GC/MS. We will also implement lot tracing.

Sincerely,
Mark & the NewMind team"

Absolutely not! Even if what they said above is true (and I have no way of knowing, short of paying large lab fees for analysis)
the free acid form is not active. The strange thing is that there is a big visually-apparent difference between what they sent to me and tianeptine sodium. It is so large that someone in the business should be able to simply look at the substance that they sent to me and actual tianeptine sodium and see a stark difference. What they sent is pure white and coarse-grained, even a bit crunchy. Tianeptine sodium is off-white, finer-grained, and quite sticky when damp.

Well. I bought amfonelic acid from them. It is also removed from their site. I still did not reveive it yet but a sent many e-mails to newmind with no answer. Now I am afraid that this product has a similar problem.

I finally got the amfonelic acid bought by newmind. I have no reason to defend this company. The received product is legit. I'm no expert but I see no reason why the pure tianeptine not be as effective as salt of tianeptine.

So, I decided to put in a sample order of 1g of Tianeptine Sodium from Newmind. I'll do a review since I've been looking for a decent supplier for a while. The pictures aren't great (5MP camera); but, everything you see is what I got.

Let me say that I am really pleased with shipping. Got the package in two days and no hitch. The packaging is great and I like the outer looks of the package.

The contents were neatly packed and secured. As you can see below.

Two scoops were included which is nice.

It is late; but, I will see how are the effects of the Tianeptine tomorrow. Let's hope this is a winner. =]

Thanks, yadayada. Unfortunately, the LC/MC is too low resolution to be readable. Can you scan it as a pdf and post that way? Also, do you know what tianeptine sodium is supposed to look and taste like, and if so, does what you received look and taste like tianeptine sodium?

Can you be more specific about the effects? Also, how long until you started feeling the effects?

I'm taking Selegiline, but I am contemplating adding Tianeptine to the mix.

I'm actually considering stopping taking it. I haven't taken it in a while. I only bought it to combine it with NSI-189 to potentiate the effects, which, have been pretty strong. I'm also currently on Sertraline and its really hard to get off of it without having those weird brain zaps. So, I wouldn't reccomend anything sicne I'm not a doctor; but, I don't think Tianeptine is a good idea if you don't know how to make sure to take the 15mg every 3 hours or so. This can be done by adding it to a water bottle; but, I just hate the ups and downs.

No.

The pamphlet that comes with Stablon warns that it is dangerous to take tianeptine with a MAOI.

Well, it shouldn't last only 3 hours. That's roughly the half life, and it takes about 4-5 half lives to eliminate most of a drug, so 3 hours is not necessarily the time it takes to reduce the drug to subtherapeutic levels in most people.

But yes, if you get ups and downs dissolving in water is actually a good idea.

I got mine from IAS. It is expensive but it appears to be the real brand name Stablon.

Since this is in powder form, you have a spike in the concentration of Tianeptine in your bloodstream. After that the comedown isn't noticeable; but, the positive stimulating effects wear off. So, yeah its best to just dilute 50mg in a bottle of water and just sip away throughout the day. But, the powder is clumpy and won't dissolve easily. But, its going to be an expensive habit over a while.
Quote

Colour's Photo Colour 26 Sep 2013

Why is it expensive? It seems very cheap! 100+ doses for $20 on eBay.
Also, would you say the powder absorbs faster than the pill? I test this by putting pills in my mouth and moving it around with my tongue to see how fast it dissolves.
Usually it's within a minute.

I took a low dose of Selegiline or rasagiline (fewer sides) along tianeptine for a few months without issues. There is a pubmed article where the combo is given to an older woman with treatment resistant depression.
I wouldn't advise it though because in the end the selegiline seems to reduce the anxiolytic effects of tia.
In any case start with a very low dose if you decide to go for it.
