After one day off my usual stack which does contain noopept but not caffeine, I took 200mg caffeine and 30mg noopept on an empty stomach. After about 30 minutes I was hit by a powerful feeling of disassociation, stronger than that of high dosage dextromethorphan, nearly as though I had depersonalization disorder.

In terms of altered mental state, I've never had this strong of a response to any nootropic. Is there some explanation for this experience?

From what I gathered prior to including it to my stack, Noopept and caffeine are supposedly synergistic. I myself take 30mg of Noopept most mornings with an energy drink containing 130 mg of caffeine (via guarana). And if not stimulated enough I might drink another one an hour or so later. I have not yet experienced any DXM-like feelings, wouldn't want to either: talk about counter-productive...

would you describe it as an "almost panic attack" ?
I saw some other people say they experienced a similar feeling with high dose noopept (30mg or greater)

Today I had 2 Nootams, which contained a total of 20mg noopept and 150mg caffeine, as well as an additional 250mg (estimated) of caffeine from 2 coffees. I expect I'll be awake fairly late tonight, but today was awesome.. tons of energy, great focus.. for me, noopept and caffeine go very well together.

Not at all. In fact, I conclude this to be a side effect of caffeine possibly compounded with a withdrawal symptom of some of the other nootropics in my stack. Here's one reference to that effect:
http://www.ncbi.nlm..../pubmed/2742946

Overall, it was a positive experience, but there were some possible hallmarks of dissociative fugue, since during that single experience I made two major breakthroughs at work and pushed my project's new agenda on my own boss. Despite departing from status quo of my usual behavior that day, this week promotion/bonus day went extremely well for me alone despite our collective expectations to the contrary.

Since then I've lowered all dosages and added alpha GPC and oxiracetam - this small new stack has given promising results as a short term amelioration for a high impact work environment.
