Exercise is know to increase the number of mitochondria in the brain. In mice, supposedly in human too.

But what kind of exercise is the best way to do this?

Strenght training?

Interval training?

Long distance running?

Personally I do strenght training 3 times is 8-9 days. Partly slow speed reps, partly normal speed reps to the failure. After the strenght training I run 12 minutes so that I'm pretty exhausted after the running (mild version of Cooper test). I dont particularly like running, so I try to be efficient and run intensively. I'm not sure whether this is a good way to induce mitochondrial biogenesis.

Aerobic exercise is the best, it is the one that increases AMPK signalling and through that - mitochondrial biogenesis
at least in muscle

I think likely a range of all exercises; with the most efficient probably being an interval or HIIT type workout which works the aerobic and anaerobic pathways (lungs and muscles).
