Hello.
I found out many people like Lithium very much. They even say it's some kind of magic pill, it makes wonders... Bought "Doctor's Best Lithium Orotate"... Been taking it for a month... Nothing ( I started taking it for social anxiety & blushing relief, and for mood stabilization, and I don't see any improvement... And the only thing that changed - I got angrier... :|?
Maybe I'm immune to lithium? (

Funny thing, I noticed the angry side effect too. Other people thought I must be crazy, because apparently for most people it mellows them out. I started cutting it into quarters so that I'd get about a milligram a day, and I don't notice any negative effects. I'm not really convinced my "angry" side effect was real, because stuff like that is so situational. I'd rather not have the hassle of splitting pills, but on the other hand, if I took the whole thing it would cost four times as much. The typical dose for bipolar disorder is hundreds of milligrams, rather than five, so I'm not sure 5mg is going to be much of a mood stabilizer, but I've heard a lot of claims of positive effects from pretty low doses. You could try changing your dose and see what happens. I wouldn't take too much, though. Lithium toxic levels are not very high, and I've heard of seriously bad reactions to relatively low doses of the orotate. (under 50mg)

Did you take 1 pill a day?  Because many people find that 15-20mg of Elemental Lithium or around 4 pills a day is most effective. In this thread, jadamgo found that 50mg of Elemental Lithium was most effective and produced no side effects.

"it was never my experience that 5 or 10 mg elemental lithium did much of anything. I had to bump the dosage up to 50mg daily for it to work. This makes sense -- bipolar patients often take around 100-250mg elemental lithium per day. And (unipolar) depressed patients on lithium augmentation usually take 50-100mg elemental lithium per day."

"15mg a day has made a absolute huge difference in my life. Anxiety is all but gone, and my mood is much improved."
