Its a NAD booster. You have a couple of weeks to read up and decide before the next offer.

I already know what this magical formula is lol. What I was confused about is how much the cost would be with the discount- should I buy one until I wait for the discount? I am currently also buying mitoq which is expensive (is there a discount for that too)- MitoQ + Niagen seem to be the perfect mitochondrial.

It was in the thread I shared with you http://www.longecity...e-5#entry713712 Its currently the best per gram we've struck with any vender but it is a 6 bottle commitment.

A raw materials supplier that makes NR generically said that nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is much more efficient than NR.

He said that 300 mg of NR was roughly equivalent to 5 mg of NMN.

Will a chemist chime in on this, please?

I'm not aware any generic NR suppliers had surfaced. If there is one that has surfaced a sample for testing would be in order. So far most have turned out to be plain nicotinamide or riboside. I would take their comments with a grain of salt until their product is verified. The 2 substances have been deemed roughly equivalent once in the blood serum with NMN being converted to NR at the cell membrane for absorption, (Nucleotides (e.g. NAD and NMN) undergo extracellular degradation resulting in the formation of permeable precursors.)    The resulting NR is then converted to NMN by nicotinamide riboside kinases (NRK) or by CD157 in the cytoplasm. Thus, there are five different entry points into NAD+ biosynthesis in human cells as follows: NA, Nam, NR, NAR, and tryptophan.    We've looked at NMN and it's vastly more expensive than NR and most of the experiments with it avoided the digestive tract and used injection. However if a new generic NR supplier can be verified a few of us might be interested, please tell me it isn't another Chinese outfit?

I agree. And I scanned a paper since I last posted that showed that NR did more than NMN, so his credibility is compromised.

And yes, he is a Chinese raw materials vendor that I met at SupplySide West, a large conference where raw materials vendors display.

He emailed me, wanting to talk on Thursday. I will ask for a sample of his NR.

Is there someone that can test a sample?

I would PM Maxwatt and ask who he used for testing. I wouldn't expect it to be legitimate but maybe they came up with a competitive process.

I am not replying to the prior topic. I don't see how to post without replying.

I received a Life Extension offer for NAD+Cell Regenerator NIAGEN Nicotinamide Riboside 100 mg / 30 capsules for $17 with discount code. Obviously, it is only 100 mg compared to HPN's 125 mg but does anyone know how this compares otherwise to HPN product?

Thank you

Thanks for mentioning this. Other than the doseage, the differences are in the added ingredients. Silica, and I believe that Vegetable Stearate might be simply another name for Magnesium Stearate.    http://draxe.com/magnesium-stearate/

LEF-Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable cellulose (capsule), silica, vegetable stearate.

HPN: Other ingredients:  microcrystalline cellulose, Cellulose.

Silica is essentially sand crushed into microscopic jagged particles. Generally considered safe unless inhaled where it can create dire problems. Since the lining of the digestive tract is shed every several days I think this gives us some measure of protection. This is not the case with our Lungs.

What is crystalline silica? - Occupational Safety and Health

I don't want to tackle or advise on magnesium stearate / Vegetable Stearate safety. This one is all over the board from its harmless to harmful. At least with Silica Powder we know it causes cancer if inhaled, what it does in the gut is widely considered safe but it's still a decision. On magnesium stearate / Vegetable Stearate safety I tend to avoid those ingredients in controversy. With the Silica Powder and the fact that I take my NR under my tongue I avoid it right off the bat.

aribadabar, the link gives a page not found message.

Are there still deals to be had or perhaps another group buy? I've been testing it at low doses for a few days now. Nothing really to report yet. I'm just taking 125mg per day to see how I react to it. I plan to double up in a while perhaps next week.

This stuff is so expensive, someone is making a killing on it.

HPN is beginning the Longecity offer tomorrow night for 6 and 12-bottle orders and they have an everyday 3-bottle option for our group.

There are several people I want to give samples of NR too -- family members, neighbors, former co-workers, and friends -- after I try it out for myself. Already two people I've recommended NR to have told me about the energy they are feeling. I wish that I could buy a low cost box with several individually wrapped packages containing a few capsules each. This would be ideal because I hate the idea of giving anyone samples from an opened container/bottle, even if it is my own.

I don't know if this is allowed, so please feel free to delete this post if it is inappropriate. But if anyone reading this sells NR and would be interested in their company and product being promoted and marketed, I'd gladly spread the word among my contacts and distribute the promotional material in exchange for a couple sample bottles of NR. My budget is tight right now, and I'm afraid that I'll run out of NR quickly if I'm forced to share the bottle I plan on ordering.

Where are the best places to buy NR 250 or 300 mg capsules?

Are many people switching from NR to NMN?
