Pill no.1

Alpha GPC (L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine) (soy) 600 mg

Vs

Pill no.2

GlyceroPhosphoCholine (GPC) 300 mg

PhosphatidylSerine (PS) 100 mg

I'm interested in recover old memories, improve my learning and also raise growth hormone. What would you prefer for this proposes, no.1 or no.2?

What is the real diference between alpha-gpc and normal gpc? I can't find an anwser anywhere.

Sorry for my english.

Nootropics help forming new memories... Recovering old memories is probably more the domain of seeing a psychologist. You'd really have to try both to see what worked for you...

Well, old memories come back suddlenly when I take Acetyl - L - Carnitine + soy lethicin, so... Also I tried autohipnosis and meditation.

any updates?

Like I said, I bought CDP-Choline back in that time, I was seduced by this:

Changes in brain striatum dopamine and acetylcholine receptors induced by chronic CDP-choline treatment of aging mice.

http://www.ncbi.nlm....?tool=pmcentrez

It is concluded that chronic administration of CDP-choline to aged animals promoted a partial
recovery of the striatum dopamine and acetylcholine receptor function normally reduced with aging,
which might be explicable in terms of mechanisms involving fluidity of the brain neuronal membrane.

Works fine, makes your thoughts clearer, but I become slightly hypomanic if I take it everyday. Now I only take soy lechithin as choline source:

Soy lecithin contains:

  • Phosphatidylserine (PS; phosphatidic acid bound to serine) at around 3% total phospholipids[4]

  • Phosphatidylcholine (PC; phosphatidic acid bound to Choline) at up to 29-31.7% of phospholipids[5][4]

  • Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE; phosphatidic acid bound to ethanolamine) at up to 20.8-23% of phospholipids[5][4]

  • Phosphatidylinositol (PI; phosphatidic acid bound to Inositol) up to 15-17.5% of phospholipids[5][4]

  • Phosphatidic acid (PA; 7-17.5% of total phospholipids[5][4])

  • Phytosterols (most as glycosides) including β-sitosterol, sitostanol, and sitosteryl β-d-glucoside[6]

  • Phytoglycolipids (14.8% total phospholipids[4])

With the lipid composition of the above phospholipids accounting for:

  • Linoleic acid at 64%[4]

  • Palmitic acid at 14%[4]

  • Oleic acid at 10%[4]

  • Linolenic acid at 7%[4]

  • Stearic acid at 4%[4]

Even if I take 4g a day, I don't feel much, but I do feel the effects of too much acetylcholine when I mix it with KSM-66 (acetylcholinesterase inhibitor): depression, pressure in the back of my neck, irritability, random memories flashing up... So maybe it is doing something.

Also, I take brewers yeast due to its content of uridine:

I don't feel any nootropic effect with this. Makes me thirsty.

well, cdp doesnt do anything for me days now of dosing and i thought it might work in combo with alpha gpc and nobody can really answer me so far if the combination of cdp and alpha gpc will work much better or they inhibit each other's effects so might as well not try. but i guess its up to me to to find out...

and i didnt know that specific ashawaganda extract is cholinestarase inhibitor.... interesting. you really dont think it works by itself because i believe soy lecithin is completely useless. there were studies done on differences between supplementing PS from bovine and soy and soy did not work at all, but since people are afraid of disease bovine PS seized production. but i would not trust soy anyway

I have always been a bit disappointed by Alpha-GPC.  I find it works but it's not such a great big deal.  I find it is more of a cognitive enhancer (also for muscle co-ordination in my case) than particularly good for recalling old memories.

On the other hand, I have taken Aricept and found that after a few weeks very old memories were popping into my mind which I hadn't recalled in years.  Aricept probably has far more actions than simply on reducing a choline inhibiting chemical, so it is hard to tell exactly what was taking place biochemically.

If the OP is interested in recall for exam purposes then that controlled recall may be different again to the spontaneous memories Aricept gave me.

In the end, I stopped taking Aricept because I found the side effects were greater than the benefits.

so aricept had a lot of bad side effects but positively, it only brought old memories back and no much pronounced memory enhancement? i was reading a guy taking it and being frightened at how good his memory has become. in such way, memorizing so many things was probably too much at one point i assume
