Okay, there is one thing about CR that gives me a headache and I've never been able to get my mind around:  how do you know what your "ad libitum" calorie rate is.  In my case I have for the last several decades been at right around 15% body fat.  Sure, sometimes I go down to 14% and sometimes up to 16%, but I'm one of those guys that stay pretty thin day in and day out.

However, I really do not have an idea how many calories I eat in a day even though I am Mr. Consistency.  And, if I tried to count calories to determine it, it would never work.  Why?  Because, if I count calories, I will eat less out of guilt and shame.

So the bottom line is that the only way for me to really pick a target calorie level is via blood tests and weight loss.  So how about this for a theory?

We know - one of you guys posted this study - that fasting insulin and body temp are two of the three predictors for longevity.  So why not lower calorie levels until you achieve a) lower body temp and b) lower fasting insulin levels?

To me this is a the only way that I see to find a target CR baseline calorie level.  Or am I missing something?
