Hello,
I had started taking L-Tyrosine and 5-HTP but stopped after fearing that they would lead to sow regulation of seratonin and dopamine receptors (or the natural production of these in my brain).
I am new to this but recently tapered off of benzos, so I now know that the artificial GABA-boosting effects of this medication want the brain dials down it’s own production and I am worried about that happening with these supplements.
Can anyone explain scientifically what happens here? Is it smart to stop taking these to help with depression? Some say these supplements help but I do not want a new dependency...
